I thought we'd be a game or two above where we are right now, but then again I didn't think we'd beat Geelong at Geelong or Footscray anywhere so... I'm [censored] off at the inconsistancy. We look really good sometimes, and then we just forget how to play. GWS and Port. The last half against Brissy. Everything but the last Q against Essendon. etc etc etc. I don't know what the fix is for that. Out played I can deal with. Forgetting how to play... not so much.

Watched Dawes intensively on Sat and and came away wondering what the hell he gives us. He can't mark unless he's a mile clear and it's on his chest, his opponent isn't afraid to run off him, he picks the wrong option again and again, He's not a target, he's not a presence, and he's not a goal kicker. Give me TMac kicking points over Dawes any round.

Hassa. He'll probably be be [censored] at me for saying it here as he's such a good bloke and I'm pretty disreputable, but then again I don't think I've ever seen him be anything other than one of nature's nice guys, so I guess I'm safe.

Yes our finishing was horrible, and we seem to have doing 3 good things and [censored] up the 4th down pat, but we gave it everything in the 4th Q after sleeping through the 3rd. 24 months ago we would have lost by 10+ goals. It was ours to lose and we lost it, but we fought it out to the end. Yeah, I'm not happy we lost (especially as I drove down from NSW to see my first live game in a couple of years and froze through it, but it wasn't the wrist slitting loss some people seem to think it was.

I didn't. My OP was to Lucifier's Hero. I was using your post to clarify something I should have done in an earlier post. Your post seemed a pretty good point to use to differentiate my self from the love MC/ hate MC camp, and sit somewhere in the middle, legs crossed and meditating, in the hate PC and SJW camp.

For me it's not about that. I really don't care these days: he isn't superman leading Geelong to another flag; he didn't come out and kick ten against us a couple of weeks ago and rub our noses in it; we got a pretty fair deal out of the trading of horses we did. Now I'm not crying that he is injured and might never be the player that he should be, but I'm not gloating either. He is pretty 'meh' to me these days and I only opened the thread because I wondered what prompted a new bunch of posts in an old thread. However (and this was the point of my original response) I am so sick and bloody tired of so many special petunias demanding threads be closed the moment they see an opinion or two they don't like. The mods delete without fear or favour offensive posts and close threads that turn into mindless bickering pretty quickly, yet barely a week goes by without some SJW making a stand and demanding the thread be closed because the subject hurt their widdle feelings. I don't think I've ever been on a forum where so many stage for a free kick, and I think it's reasonable that they are occasionally told to drink a cup of cement and harden the [censored] up.

That's pretty deep. It's also annoying. So what if some of the posters are [censored] off at the way Mitch left us? Do you really think he's going to read Demonland and burst into tears? Do you really think he even knows this place exists? Sheesh, this is just a bunch of people in a pub talking footy and all things related, and Mitch happens to be an interesting subject to some. We are not The HS or AFL 360. I'd suggest that if you don't like the thread then you shouldn't read it, and let the mods weed out the truly offensive stuff, while letting the good, bad, and (tolerably) ugly stuff be hashed out by those interested until something more interesting is found.

I never called you a troll. That's putting words in my mouth. And I'm glad the mods are happy to let you post - it's not a forum if only one side has the soap box. I just don't understand why you care what we think. I know that I didn't (and still don't) give a rat's arse what Essendon posters said about us and the tanking. All that mattered was the final ruling. Everything else is just 'rhubarb rhubarb'. But, hey, if you really think it's important to you to defend the indefensible deep in enemy territory, where the court of public opinion long ago found you guilty, sentenced you to 500 lashes and a good hanging, and now is only interested in when the powers that be will bury that sticking, rotting corpse, then knock yourself out. I am. It's better than the endless news cycles that ram the bad bits of the world down our throats. Harmless escapism sounds pretty good right now.

We have good players coming through, but our polish is horrible sometimes. It costs us two goals, and gifts the opp three in most of our games. When I see us hitting up the people we are aimng for on a really regular basis then I'm start thinking about finals. We are moving in the right direction, but so often anything good we do is often undone by stupid and b grade work. Get rid of that and we are looking like a team again. If we cant do that then we will be around our current mark for a fair while.
