I didnt say I agree with it - but I do suggest it is eye for an eye.
You answered your own question - if an injury happens due to a fair contest then that's footy - but if you choose to bump, the more severe the injury the greater the penalty - that's the message they are sending. How often is it being reported - "we will see what the injury report is"
The other thing of note is hitting/bumping/tackling someone fairly. The definition of fairly seems to be fluid with MRP.
yeah I wasnt having a go at you - just the system
cheers

yes i understand, but i don't think cameron's action was accidental and we all know he has form
cameron's bump was intentional and at least reckless and didn't exercise due care, and that is why consequences do and should come into play. fcs he fractured the guy's jaw.
didnt viney fracture Lynch's jaw?
I think we are roughly agreeing - I just think the system for how many weeks someone gets is BS

the guy he hit is out for 6 weeks
and you can hit/bump someone fairly in a marking contest or hip and shoulder and they miss 10 weeks. so what? collision injuries happen and its too simplistic to say and eye for an eye.
if that gets 4 weeks, what would a deliberate elbow/punch off the ball get?

just a bit of banter guys, settle down
like the arrogance that Hogan shows. like that the Ox is holding Hoges to very high standards.
The Ox is poking the Bear (Hulk) watch out round 1. Hogan is angry

Stiff to get 4 weeks.
If he had of hit the bloke in a different area of his head and he played on, He would have only gotten one week id say. Luck has a lot to do with it

I reluctantly rate gws.
I do have some confidence in our organisation and hardness - which I can tell you is the first time I've saf that in a looooong time.
Reckon its 50-50
would be awesome to get up. Then smash the cheats by 187 to break that other hoodoo

If pedo suspended, no way frost will be dropped. He must play for structure deespencer

We should have won this easily. 4-5 easy goals missed
have to eat some early humble pie and say Bugg was very good.
N jones I'm tipping to have a career best year. He was a major reason why we dominated the last 3 quarters.

Temper expectations. Much better to be surprised than to extrapolate. What is clear is a discernable, intentional application which has every opportunity to evolve.
You reckon our application may evolve? Hope not, it was pretty bloody good

I'm curious as to on what logic the Saints are favourites? We're shorter priced v GWS for round one of the real stuff. ?
We haven't beaten them for 10 years.

Warms the heart to see number 9 out there looking fit. Gee I hope he can play 5+ seasons and show us what he can do

good to hear Angus should play a VFL game next weekend!
from the squad listed, with VDB, Angus and Dunn coming back we'll need to trim it by 7. not an easy task
-
we'll start favourite or close to favourite in 4 of the 12. i reckon we can snag a couple of extra wins against Tiges and one against Pies.
so my guess/hope is 6 wins out of 6.
win 4 in the 2nd half of the season and end on 10 wins
-
saints have their full team playing. you look it and there are 3-4 old guns. and i mean old. then they have 2-3 good youngsters and maybe 2 good mid age players. they have a lot of plodders
i know I am biased but our squad is a lot better than theirs, surely? i expect 3 wins against the saints this year
-
I agree PG. i see it as a good sign that 2nd year players cant just walk into the 22. we have unusually decided to play the best fit players in all 3 games and he hasnt made the cut as our midfield is actually decent now. Matt jones is probably the one taking his spot. so now - unlike other years - the young guy will have to knuckle down and lift his game and training strandards to a higher level
Good signs! Hopefully he dominates at casey as he did last year and knocks the door down
I think Mitch White had an injury concerns a few weeks back so maybe not fully fit
-
only a praccy match but it will be telling how we use the ball at etihad and how our skills look. we've had 2 hit outs to blow out the cobwebs
will also be interesting to see us having to stick to 90 rotations and how our fitness looks against the saints.
Hogan will come back in, wouldn't think they will be too many other first 22 players left out of the side as we'll have 2 weeks to rest up.

why does the media give such credence to what Eddie suggests? such ridiculous ideas. premiership points from the NAB challenge, knock down a stadium and build another one.
how about getting back to grass roots and putting the money into stadiums around Melbourne, Princes park, waverly wherever. it would add a lot to the game
-
dont think the Dogs will back up there season last year. best senior players all on the wrong side of 30 and that should start to show, much harder draw too
i think we'll see the rise of two of my least favourite teams in GWS and the Pies. think Port will just miss out as well.
Westcoast
Sydney
Richmond
Hawthorn
Collingwood
Fremantle
GWS
Geelong

you know you've been a Dees fan for a while when I had to scan the article for sarcasm. Hmm, not written by Titus O'reilly... it seems to be a serious article actually saying we could get around 15 wins. positive press! go Dees!
everything would have to go right for us to do that. Dogs had an easy draw and the planets aligned for them. its nice to be a position to even dream about this rather than go kinto the season dreading most games

Schwadda, love him.
so fked he didnt get a few seasons to fulfil his potential. Was a bittersweet treat watching those highlights. that team was terrific. worlds away from what we have been watching over the past decade
like him in the media too

well at least pay half the effort then. You said yourself you got what you expected which was us monstering them, particularly in the last. Those two quarters were 7 goals to zip, sorry we didn't win 14 zip but at least pay some credit.
i just expected us to comfortably beat a beat missing their 15 best players.
i acknowledged we were good in the last quarter. overall our effort was good all day - the skills were shocking. hopefully the conditions were mostly to blame

some are seriously arguing that they only had their best 15 players out - they still had a good team.
hilarious.
we were poor for 3 quarters and finally started playing in the 4th. if we dont play better than that we wont win many more than last year

to be fair, that is precisely what happened in the 2nd and 4th quarters
i dont mean play well every now and again and then be terrible, I mean play consistent;y well and be leading by 4 goals.
we were losing after each of the first 3 quarters. our last quarter was good but thats the least you would expect - our senior players to run over the top of their kids
