Club lists finalised with further signings
DubDee replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
these signing make it an obvious decision to keep Jones on for another year. Hopefully some of these 5 make it but in reality most won't. Pity we do not have a season of exposed form at Casey/lower levels as we could have looked at some mature recruits. hopefully things get back to normal next year -
It will and has already started
-
I reckon that might be changing. who is the last gun they have attracted?
-
I’m sure every team would love Trac. Zero chance he goes to an imploding rabble like the pies though
-
Harmes has a poor year. HB didn’t suit him but I am still disappointed in his season. A midfielder with good skills and aggression should be able to play HB at least to a decent level. Hopefully he can bounce back
-
no need to worry, we didn't have any first rounders for this year at the start of the trade period either this time next year JM will have spun his magic and turned ANB and a packet of chips into pick 8 and 14
-
I’m glad the rotations are reducing. Hopefully down to 60 the year after. Should reduce the ability of teams to sprint constantly. Teams will lower speed may benefit. Players will hold their position more and the game should open up.
-
so. do we think we will keep 18 and 19? if so - who are the possibles? or if not - who could we get at the earlier pick? Sorry if this has been discussed earlier
-
Lazy Journalism - MFC have a gun - therefore he will be poached Insecure MFC supporter - we have a gun player therefore he will leave Have confidence folks! Lets hold our sht together and have a massive season next year. None of our good players have looked to leave recently, Gawn, Viney, Gus etc. in fact we have attracted players like May who want to come to us Go Demons

Tough break O Mac. Would have been a borderline call. I reckon the saints or another team will snap you up

Who Will We Dislodge from the 2020 Final Eight?
DubDee replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hopefully teams will figure out the Cats over the off-season. they are old and slow and play keepings off. Hawkins played an amazing year for his age, but it won't continue. No Taylor, no Ablett. the wheels have to fall off eventually and I reckon they will not make the 8 next year Let's just win 14+ games and it doesn't matter what other teams do :-) -
Hopefully Mike has signed up Adam Treloar for the coming season of open mike
-
I reckon we will have to split a couple of these kids up soon! seriously though, it is tiresome
-
they don't have much choice! Kelly and Whitfield will be onto their managers to get out too. who is their run off HB now? lost Wilson, Williams, Shaw. they are in big trouble. poor things

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
DubDee replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not since Neitz have we had a big fwd that can kick straight and kick long 287 goals and 139 behinds 2018 he kicked 61 goals and 24 behinds! -
What, like posting on a footy forum?
-
Yeah I agree. Although they negotiated well, they didn’t bring in any players of note and they don’t need more picks Who left: Jye Caldwell, Jeremy Cameron, Aidan Corr, Zac Langdon, Zac Williams plus Hately in the PSD. Massive losses which they won’t recover from and from all the players their highest pick is only 10 in a compromised draft. Along with Pies and bombers, GWS had a terrible trade period
-
But we are so good are trading picks and working up the order I would back us to have at least one first rounder next year by the time the draft comes around
-
It’s a disgrace the AFL did not announce this a month ago. Blokes futures are on the line. Careers could be over and during a pandemic too. A bloke like Mitch Brown probably thought he’d done enough in his last game to get a contract. 2 months later, he is in big trouble
-
I’m usually not too picky but that thread title is crying out for a comma, maybe a full stop or too, some brackets and certainly a question mark to the topic - quick running back winger small forward back up ruck- consider mature recruits
-
Collingwood will take a hit next year having lost 1 elite and 2 good players. But the bigger hit will be over the next few years when they realise they have lost the trust of the playing group. A gun player on a 5 year deal gets told to clear out his desk? a promising kid gets told to look for a trade with zero warning and ends up at the bottom team?! won't be surprised if a few players look for a trade next year
-
Good lord that is horrible! Hilarious!
-
Great summary LH MFC are so good at trade period and draft these days. And we treat our players and other clubs with respect. Haven’t put our cap under undue pressure so have capacity for Trac and Clarry deals in the future. stable and steadily building. Go Dees
-
What did the bombers pay for Caldwell?
-
I don’t know but I would guess the 500K for Phillips was the issue. Hawks have to pay the min cap but it would put us out of whack
