did you see the Tigers on Swan street? and that was just 20-30 thousand fans. can you imagine 4 million? there'll always be issues with a crowd that size

Not AFL
If AFL was played by billion globally you would see the same stuff. Are you aware of what life is like in Argentina? the economic and social issues? Football is more than a sport, it represents hope and something to escape their lives. Millions attended and did not riot, but of course the story is the ones who did. Poverty and large crowds can lead to this. There is nothing intrinsic in football that makes people riot, the issue is much bigger than that A remarkable turn out, shows how much it means to them.

AFL Crystal Ball: Way-Too-Early Predictions for 2023
Geelong put everything into 2022. Selwood gone and Hawkins another year older expecting them to be around 6th next year, especially with their tough draw

The 2023 AFL Fixture
Iโd have north, hawks, Gold Coast and Saints as my bottom 4

Some of the โfansโ that ran on the pitch have been linked with an extremist group.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
Agree. Crows will not be bottom four. Building nicely imo

Not AFL
I find it bizarre how a few footy fans get so defensive and fired up when someone says they like soccer or maybe something about soccer is better than footy they are so different and both amazing sports. canโt we all just get along?!?! ๐

Not to mention the A league returns on Friday! *ducks for more cover to avoid metal buckets

Not AFL
Completely agree. Staying on topic about the Victory crowd debacle the A league could well fold in a couple of years the ways itโs being managed its more the general soccer is boring / bs that Iโve heard for decades that is tiresome. Dont like then donโt watch it

Not AFL
As I figured this has turned into a thread to knock soccer. If you donโt like it, donโt watch it close thread?

The 2023 AFL Fixture
How the mighty have fallen The hawks have only 3 home games at the MCG in the first 15 rounds and only 3 games on free to air. No Friday night games and they have 2 top 6 sides twice they got screwed! ๐ *some of this due to playing games in Tassie

Cmon. If it wasnโt entertaining or exciting people would lose interest over time. Its a beautiful game full of skill and technique and can be played by people of any size. Iโm biased as I love the game and played it for 20 years so I understand if others donโt get it

Soccer is far the most popular sport in the world for a reason. Brings joy to hundreds of millions. and is easily the popular sport in Australia to play. Iโve been to many A league matches and I find there are less fights and personal abuse that footy matches. The media donโt like reporting on all the fights at the footy for some reason. Believe me or not Iโm upset about last night, a few hundred absolute morons who should be thrown in jail. Absolute disgrace. Has reversed all the goodwill gained from the World Cup and will set the game back even further.

Best 44 for Western
Great midfield, stacked fwd line, poor defence theyll be up and down like usual until they fix the defence surprised Bevo got an extension
-
Best 44 for Sydney
Only missing a inside bull to assist Parker and one of their young fwds to break out and they are very complete that happens when you are gifted top 3 picks when you finish top 4
-
Best 44 for West Coast
My tip to surprise a few this year. Predict they win 10+ and push for a finals spot Gibney and Hewitt should make an impact in their first season. Many of their ageing stars are fit again im glad we avoided them as a bottom 4 double up

Best 44 for St.Kilda
they won 8 of their first 11 last year in fairness. But I would bottom out if i was Ross. trade a few players and hit the draft
-
Best 44 for St.Kilda
Defence is still poor. Midfield and fwd line decent to good but they need King there Need quality backs and more high end talent all over the ground could sneak into finals if all goes well
-
Best 44 for Richmond
Their additions will see them easily in finals. Bolton and Lynch are two of the best players in the league and who knows with Dusty an interesting watch.
