NON-MFC: Rd 06 2023

Gather Round in Adelaide 3 year extension
What’s the compensation for all the other teams since both SA are getting an extra home game, let’s hope for integrity( which the afl needs to look up the meaning) sake that the adjustment to the draw is made by the afl

CASEY: Rd 04 vs Essendon
Don’t rate Sachche highly at AfL but needs to be given a chance inc Harmes & Laurie

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Looked like they were still in Perth and flat footed with no run….can’t take away from the bombers but looked like they were cooked, not sure how 1 team does a back to back road trip from Perth inc 3 interstate trips vs 1 in the first 5 round and say there is no disadvantage ect .. no excuses but as Goody said It didn’t look anything like them.. understand all teams will get there run of interstate trips etc but not sure why it’s so hard to run a fixture that continues to be so lob sided….

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
What’s it say about the draft system when a premiership club loses a pick 3 & 12 after 4 seasons, and I can just see a bs compensation on offer!

Playing injured
It’s done now but surprised after Swans loss that no changes were made eg Bedford as our fwd line wasn’t working and not playing injured players, obviously Goody & co didn’t rate any Casey players who only lost 1 game for the season.

Training Ground?
Very frustrating and one wonders how the Swans continue to get things done, not sure who’s funded 70mill, hope the afl hasn’t! Yet our club that bears the name of the city is training in a paddock & has to drive 50+ minutes to Casey! Club has done an amazing job in winning flags across all the teams but we are getting left behind big time
-
Training Ground?
Correct the ship has possible sailed for a one roof solution within the mcg precinct & not having a crack at the existing board as they have delivered a flag across all our teams & banking $$$ but it’s time this can which is been kicked down the road by previous incompetent boards & find a solution worthy of our club that bears the name of the city with such long history!
-
Training Ground?
Totally agree, it’s just not about the facilities, it’s about this is our home, as currently we’re are our premiership cups on display? It’s all these 1% that create a sense of belonging. Unfortunately our club was born out of the MCC unlike the other suburban clubs in the vfl.
-
Training Ground?
Don’t disagree success isn’t due to training facilities but they help, ours are all stop gaps & need a permanent solution.
-
Training Ground?
Casey whilst good facilities etc is too far away, whilst start of the art facilities is no guarantee of success eg Collingwood 1 x flag in 20+ years, we are falling behind when you consider tigers & dogs getting multi million funding to upgrade their grounds inc Cats who will have a 40k stadium to train on plus the right to host home finals vs Josh’s paddock plus a 50+ drive to Casey…

Training Ground?
Olympic park /glass house was offered to the MFC 20years ago & knocked back unbelievably, the question is why hasnt car park F deal been done?? Kate our president had openly said finding the space in this precinct is a challenge so club needs to look outside of the MCG area , Port Melb ground would be great but no doubt challenges commercially, funding , our existing Casey VFL alliance not to mention the cricket club who use this ground so 20 people can watch games, as need the ground all year round.

Training Ground?
I know it’s been covered but has the club looked at this …. Whilst Eddie time was up he was instrumental in getting Olympic park which Gutnick knocked back saying we couldn’t afford it! Eddie McGuire revealed this morning where he would look to relocate the Melbourne Football Club if he was in charge of the Demons. The Melbourne board revealed at their recent AGM that they are looking for a new permanent training & administration base. Eddie has suggested that Port Melbourne would be an ideal base for the Demons going forward. "I'd go to Port Melbourne, I'd go and do a deal with Port Melbourne and build a magnificent facility down there," Eddie said. "I'd even try and do a deal with Port Melbourne (football club) to make them the VFL team, they wear the same colours.

Training Ground?
Are we the only club that dosent have a concrete plan of our future training facility?
-
Training Ground?
Would have been done if this was the case, there’s a definite issue with both local & state gvt, club needs to clarify what the issues are. Unfortunately previous administrators signed this deal with Casey years ago & whilst it’s yielded premierships across all of the teams it’s not realistic to expect players etc to drive and 1 hr to train. Will keep on saying has the club looked at the Port Melb ground ripe for development in area which will see a huge population growth over the next decade.

Training Ground?
Pie in the sky stuff if true & bloody frustrating that our club which is the oldest and bears the name of the city continues to be treated in such a way from the state gvt with no solution yet they are funding 140 mill for Geelongs stadium .. it’s a disgrace

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Would be a joke if any team loses 2 top 10 draft picks from the same draft, premiership or not. Great system AFL hey
