A friend of mine ( a Hawks fan ) and his wife ( a Collingwood supporter) have an 18 month old son and they're debating which team the little bloke should follow. I said to him " Well Stephen, your son has very few teeth and he can't string a sentence together. He seems to fit the profile of the typical Pies fan to me. " Problem solved !

The thing I'm loving about this years team is the certain knowledge we have that someone who comes into the team to replace the injured player is good enough to play a role and allow the team to roll along seamlessly as if nothing was different. We probably thought Tomlinson would be sorely missed ( and he is ) but Petty is a more than adequate replacement taking intercept marks and cool in a crisis. Last night Sparrow was fairly quiet, but to come into the team against that opposition and to stand up when it counted was amazing

The Magpies are in the doldrums just at the moment and I feel it behoves us, since we're doing pretty well, to offer them some help to get a leg up from the dross around the bottom of the ladder. Mick McGuane has weighed in ( pun intended) with a suggestion to pick up Tyson Stengle, " a small creative pressure forward who can score." Stengle could be just what they need, especially if scoring is a priority for them. My simple advice to the Pies is spill the board and shed the yolk of the Eddie McGuire influence completely. If I were less charitable I would say Collingwood can go to hell.
