Why would Essendon magically go cold on Parish? They've been after him for months, just as we have.
-
Or we take best available rather than just plucking out the injury riddled question mark like Weideman with pick 3. Always, ALWAYS take best available.
-
He's no Colin Sylvia, granted.
-
Nice little video of Parish's home life on the farm. Get the feeling he and Bernie would get along like a house on fire if he comes to us with pick 3. Perfect mentor for a kid moving from country life to the big smoke. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2015-11-20/darcy-parish-farm-to-fame

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
SaberFang replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Both scenarios are perfectly likely with Weideman, Milera and Francis in the sights of the Bombers and Suns. -
We can probably get Oliver at 7, but not Parish. He won't make it past the Bombers.
-
And just when you thought this thread had reached its quota of moronic posts.
-
Tasman, once again, a huge thank you for yet another sensational training report. Facts, colour, page turning prose and no BS. Refreshing and much appreciated from all who can't attend training.
-
Whoops, must have been confusing my conspiracy theories!
-
Also, Elvis ain't dead and a Japanese submarine kidnapped Harold Holt.
-
A kid willingly giving himself a criminal record just to play with a certain club (when he can just be traded after 2 years anyway) is possibly the most moronic conspiracy theory I've ever heard. If it were true, the depth of his stupidity has no ceiling.
-
LOL He refused his breath test "in a state of panic." Which is such a normal reaction for a sober driver to make. That's all every sober driver does when pulled over by a booze bus. Someone has consulted their lawyer handbook.
-
Ignored a stop sign, didn't have his P plates on, refused breath test so likely drink driving, lost licence for 2 years. Yeah, don't think Roos will have much interest in someone with decision making like that. Almost certainly zero chance for pick 3 now. If it's some secret strategy concocted by another team to make him slide, and he's dumb enough to be complicit in such a scheme despite legal ramifications and a police record, why would we want anything to do with him? In either scenario there are serious red flags about his character and his judgement.
-
He'll lose his licence for 2 years because of this. Godawful judgement at the worst time imaginable.
-
You're an absolute legend Tasman, thank you so much for the reports. Hugely appreciated! As Wiseblood said, they've never been better!
-
Essentially, they can get a top 3 player by using multiple third rounders. A bit like if we were able to get Brayshaw by using picks 45, 47 & 49 (hypothetically). Like it or not, that's the new system. It's up to you whether it's an improvement on last year's situation: drafting the best midfielder with pick 17 alone.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOEL SMITH
SaberFang replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Geez, this pick-up sounds better and better all the time. Imagine if he proved as ingenious as the VDB recruitment. -
Far too high. But enough about Carlisle, pick 94 sounds about right.
-
Some respected Saints person tweeted that they're in "crisis talks" and Carlisle might "have the shortest career as a Saints player in history."
-
A lot of talk on the Saints board about trades having a "cool off" period and not being officially approved by the AFL until after tomorrow's deadline. Seems a bit of a mess they've gotten themselves into. I never saw the appeal of Carlisle and clearly he had attitude problems (not that you can blame him). Eh.
-
Absolutely. I'm not so one-eyed as to change my opinion on a dime just because something benefits the MFC.
-
You answered your own question
-
With 100% certainty; Essendon infiltrated the media years ago. Robbo would be licking his lips right now; he couldn't hide his disdain for Carlisle on 360. Jake's certainly not alone in his escapades though, could post half a dozen anecdotes I've witnessed of players on the icing sugar.

10, 46, 50, 64 to GWS for Bugg & 7 (Treloar). They end up 456 points ahead and we keep 43 for the draft.
-
So he signed a contract before even being traded? Gotta love how Collingwood make their own rules.
