  1. I will never stop laughing if Prestia does a backflip and nominates another club. Such a thing could only happen to Richmond.
  2. Interesting to hear that from Clark; he's got the ear of someone inside the MFC because he regularly gets these scoops.
  3. So this is the part where Goody invites Prestia over to his place for a Friday arvo beer, right?
  4. Seems to be much less bad blood with Mitchell though. Rumours continue to swirl that Lewis was incredibly angry with whatever happened at his exit interview.
  5. Rockliff? Leader? Oh dear. You couldn't find a more toxic captain in the league. Teammates despise him and his treatment of the club's youth is half the reason Brisbane can't retain players.
  6. Tom Boyd must be rubbing off on his teammates.
  7. He's contracted so I can't see Hawthorn letting him go. Might be some more to play out but I doubt it happens.
  8. Sounds to me like Clarko gave more than one player the "maybe a trade would be the best thing for your coaching career" spiel, and he got caught out once Mitchell agreed to take the bait. Bit of a dick move from Lewis to backflip on a trade/contract agreed in principal, especially if we've been holding out a spot for him during this trade period (which could explain our relative quietness thus far).
  9. That is an absolute bargain for Brisbane.
  10. Geez, you'd think Hawthorn are the only club allowed to make trades the way things are going.
  11. I reckon you could throw $600K at just about any young star in the competition and they would seriously consider jumping ship to Collingwood, assuming their own club wasn't coughing up similar cash in the second contract. Bizarre going after Mayne and Wells with these prices. Consider that the Tigers secured Prestia for only $150k more, who is substantially younger!
  12. I know, you can't expect the AFL to have considered this outcome in the 9 months they've had to consider this outcome. Especially when it was obvious this outcome was going to occur. I mean, let's be reasonable here.
  13. Exactly, but it's frustrating that these teams just continue to give up their lowly first round picks for established guns with 4-5 years development under their belt. When you compare this deal to what Collingwood gave up for Treloar, it's nuts.
  14. Spin doesn't rhyme with interesting.
  15. Ah, yes, The Exorcist! A classic!
  16. Just as well Gil's on $2.5 million a year to make such "heartbreaking," "difficult" decisions.
  17. It's a bit weird there were rumours floating around of a 4 time premiership Hawks player coming to the Dees just a few days ago, then this news lands (which is a bombshell in its own right).
  18. Why even allow a convicted drug cheat to make a presentation to defend themselves? Does Rory Sloane or any other suspended player get that opportunity? Why ask the other two relevant players why they deserve it instead? Why do they need an entire month to make a decision that, to me, is as black & white as Citizen Kane? Because, as with everything the AFL does, they manufacture outcomes to have the best effect on their bottom line.
  19. Farcical, a whole month until a meeting to DECIDE if he should keep it. [censored] laughable.
  20. Geez that's a bargain for Mitchell. Getting fair sick of these constant finals clubs just being able to get away with the minimum currency for guns like that. Compare it to Richmond who will have to give up pick 6 for Prestia, who is about on par with Mitchell (if not worse).
  21. The AFL article mentions that the Commission must choose between adhering to the WADA code or finding an "extenuating circumstances" clause to get him off. Seems very black and white to me, they either ignore the code and risk ASADA coming over the top again (which worked out really well last time, didn't it Gil?) or adhere to the bloody code they are signatories of!
  22. Agreed, it is beyond insulting that Mitchell should have to present some kind of ludicrous PowerPoint presentation to justify why he deserves the medal over a drug cheat. Who the [censored] are the morons running the game??!
  23. The AFL have flaunted a fragrant disregard for any moral compass or regard for ethics for well over a decade now. The only thing more transparent than their handling of this saga is Gil's utter disdain for making decisions on "difficult" issues. The fact this even requires a committee think-tank says it all. They are run like an inept government department, looking for any excuse to wriggle out of a decision that will negatively affect a "favourite son" (grab me a vomit bag), exactly like their laughable rigged outcomes at the MRP where they protect their best mates from losing match payments. Jab has probably been instructed of the plan, hence he hasn't handed the medal in yet (which any man of integrity would have done first thing this morning, if not months ago when the original finding came down).
  24. Gil already looking for an out. "The weight of public opinion said that a large group of people feel Jobe should keep his medal, therefore we will let him keep it."
  25. Radio saying West Coast could get him for a draft pick in the 50's. Seems really weird he would move interstate when there are multiple clubs in Melbourne who would take him for, probably, more money, more opportunity and more draft currency.
