  1. Was always going to cost them handsomely, but moreso when he was still contracted at the Pies. Point is, if they're so desperate for young players, probably should've thought twice about trading off 3 kids for 1.
  2. They had a picnic and were great buddies. They discussed camera lenses for hours on end. The end.
  3. Just listened to Slobbo with Ox. Holy crap he was absolutely destroyed. Especially when he started saying crap like "what made Melbourne's records any more believable than Essendon's?" ESSENDON HAD NO RECORDS! He has literally gone beneath the gutter in journalistic stakes. There's bias, then there's Robbo; he makes Bolt look sane. Some of the things you hear around the industry... well, we certainly aren't alone in our opinion of the moron. And as for the outright laughable final comment regarding Goddard's comments about the cowards who are leaking this evidence? "Well, if it came from the Bombers, he would have... every right to be angry... I don't know where it came from."
  4. Gil is finding new ways to lose my respect every week. Holy [censored], actually instructing Essendon's next 4 opponents not to sledge their players over drugs would have to be the most embarrassing thing I've seen out of AFL House in years. And that's no easy feat.
  5. Here's some free advice to the geniuses at Brisbane's list management: if you want to steal Collingwood's best young midfielder, maybe wait until he's out of contract next time, rather than sell your whole [censored] farm then turn around a year later bitching you have no young players.
  6. Wonder if Robbo bothered to do any digging on what type of injections his golden boy arranged at Essendon?? Can't have that, would've suit the "deflect and obfuscate at all costs" Murdoch directive.
  7. Robbo throwing every friend who previously supported him under the bus just for a cheap headline in this saga. And all to protect Hird. What a shambolic, pathetic excuse for a drun-- "journalist."
  8. I reckon Hogan's year off in 2014 was a blessing in disguise, and we're seeing the fruits of that this year. They got to spend an entire year just developing him and educating him about defence patterns, studying other forwards, etc. I love that the club has Petracca helping out with talent scouting and recruitment.
  9. In fairness to the show, the leading news story was 2 Collingwood players receiving 2 year bans for testing positive to performance enhancing drugs. THAT SAID, the usual line of questioning in this segment is directed to Buckley because, ultimately, the show wants ratings and they have a lot more Collingwood fans watching than Dees fans.
  10. As much as it pains me, Toumpas has to be in the firing line for trade this year if we can get the currency in return. 3 years of development and still seems incapable of remaining calm under pressure (which is, ultimately, a huge factor in building premiership standard sides). I'd so desperately love to be proven wrong though. Please work some miracles, McCartney.
  11. Sounds like we'll still have access to the 3rd/4th best midfielder if we take our pick to the draft. DeGoey, Lever and Cockatoo were right in line behind Brayshaw if we'd secured that extra first rounder, but history's history. I've got a special feeling about Trengove and our club's next chapter in 2016. There were plenty of second round steals last year, too. I'm gutted we couldn't find a way to get Touk Miller; his talent was obvious a mile off, but getting Nibbler, O-Mac and Frost wasn't a bad return at all.
  12. Reminds me a lot of the "we just need a new environment" attitude of many players who leave Melbourne for greener pastures, but merely fade into irrelevant obscurity. Those players are damaged psychologically, developmentally and, soon, WADAlly.
  13. Carlisle would just be another braindead recruitment mistake in a long, long line of recruitment mistakes from Carlton. The risk of 2 year bans isn't worth the trouble.
  14. They're usually pretty active about viewer feedback on social media, maybe tweet them?
  15. Ten years, $1m, biggest contract in AFL history, would still be a bargain.
  16. Now favourite for the Rising Star with the bookies. He needed a huge game after Cripps' blinder yesterday... boy did he deliver!
  17. Essendon: tanking mode engaged.
  18. The team played like they had the flu -- from the sounds of it, half of them did. We showed lots of promise and there's plenty to be happy about. Unfortunately what kills us time and time again is the little mistakes, the turnovers, the fumbled marks, the decision making... we need a few more years to get that wrinkled out of our players (and yes, it means turning the list over even more).
  19. Why do so many teams get all the flukey [censored] go their way when they play us. Is it a total lack of pressure?
  20. I like that he's become, apparently, a huge character around the club. Haven't heard a negative thing about him. I reckon the year off will serve him as well as it's served Hogan.
  21. Didn't Newton and Riley cost us nothing anyway? Seems a funny thing to criticise our list management for.
