Disagree SWYL. I reckon they have put in 4 pretty good quarters. Had a crack, just not good enough. But we will beat more sides playing like today than we beat last year. Couple need to be looked at but a bit of luck and who knows.
-
Melbourne are kicking at an efficiency of just 30 per cent for the quarter and are going at 49 per cent for the match. The competition average is 66 per cent.

Is it raining ?

McDonald is going great. Good to see VDB back. Went a bit quiet that 2nd qtr.
-
remember last year when he ran to the Crows Bench.
-
clever work then Watts. Knew he wasn't going to mark 2 on 1.
-
Walker fixed up McDonald.
-
Frost gone down to the rooms. Anybody see it?
-
So he thinks we will take the foot of the pedal in the second half?
-
definitely a two bottle match methinks. Will Jones play? Possibly 3.
-
Yep he is over there.

Anyone see the light training run in Adelaide? Which emergency traveled?
-
Just day dreaming and deluding myself.

Sorry to hear you are in Adelaide. Very sad. On the other hand a wet track might just be in our favour. Fancy us in the wet and should be beneficial for the crumbing forwards around the packs. Just got to get it in there and get it to the ground. Hogan and Dawes can do that.

Casey Scorpions v Frankston - Round 1, 2015
Samael replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
ANB has not been named in the team. If the rumors about Jones are true then one of the Emergencies will be over in Adelaide and possible be a late inclusion which will provide ANB with an opportunity. My guess is Michie. If you are at Casey keep an eye on Warmsley (13). Good player, bit skinny still but quality. -
Is this a hint of likely changes? Roos nominated a handful of players pushing for a round three call-up. “The guys that immediately jump into mind are [Jack] Grimes, [Viv] Michie, who has been good for a while, and Matty Jones, who played well [last Saturday for Casey],” he said. “[Jimmy] Toumpas went back and probably played his best game for the last 12 months, which was really good.

Roos: AFL players not watching enough footy
Samael replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree. That is why I have previously queried Roos not watching any Casey Games live last year. Relying on down the ground vision (its not at Casey its more the HBF/HFF vision) does not give the same perspective. Some argued that he had other members of the coaching team there watching but you only have to read D'land to know 50 people will have 49 opinions. On players watching other games live I have pointed out that players get tailored videos (and written notes on the points to consider, note and understand for their role the coming match) covering their opponent for the next game. These videos (disc) show how others have played the individual as well as the opponents strength, preferences and weaknesses, I think if I spent the time they spend on the track, in meetings, sponsorship responsibilities, public relations exercises (dare you to go to a Primary school for a few hours a day) and everything else on their individual program then the last thing you would want to do is watch another game of footy. I know many of the layers are undertaking Uni degrees which are very demanding for professional sportsmen. And don't forget that most of these blokes are youngsters who need some down time. I like the suggestion that they watch another game each week but it would need to involve the top 4 in my opinion or the next weeks opponent to be useful. PS I am glad I don't work for some of you guys. -
End of Year Cricket Trip to Adelaide this weekend. Have convinced some team mates to go and experience the new stadium and that it will be a contest despite last weeks effort. Plenty of red wine to numb the senses if its not up to my spin. My mates are merciless but none go for the Carey Roots Our Wives

Roos: AFL players not watching enough footy
Samael replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
And don't forget most players get a video of their likely opponent to study. -
Last season after the second game Roos only dropped 2 blokes and that was a heavier loss than this week. He dropped Michie and Toumpas. Probably only change 2 this week. Michie should be one of the changes on the back of 3 BOGs in the magoos. Toumpas got a bit of it but turns it over way too much I would go with Grimes. Some say Viv isn't fast but to my way of thinking it does not matter how fast you are if you haven't got the pill. This week Viv stopped tackling and just went in and got it. They played him in the guts, HBF and HFF and then in the guts. Didn't matter where he played he got the ball and 3 goals suggest he used it well.

Song, not following your logic. If Brayshaw's performance in the VFL practice matches was good enough to get him selected then other players going well should also be considered. Can't see how you can gauge one player but not others. I agree that these VFL practice matches are of little value and yesterdays was even less relevant because Werribee were not competitive. However what they can show is that some blokes are just not up to standard. Toumpas got a lot of the ball yesterday but he can't hit a target with a handball from 5 foot. His kicking is about 50% and he seems slow at decision making even when not under pressure. Jordie has endeavor but not much else. Gawn did not do himself any favours should have kicked 6 but could not hold a mark. Pedo was terrific in the first half Stretch was sound. But really there was no pressure. Noodle from Casey was easily BOG and Angus Scott would have been up there. I would be hesitant to rely just on yesterdays game to select for next weeks game.

Michie/ Michie Michie. Was excellent today as was Pedo. Toump needs to be coached how to handball. Shocking.

Typical Foxtel Kent back on the ground. Time for radio commentary.

Toumpas on the ground according to Foxtel Kent off concussed?
