  1. Lobb is partially a salary dump by Freo to accommodate Jackson. He's worth the Dogs 2nd pick + another pick swap. Pick 1/2 equates to pick 5 + pick 12. That's miles off Lobb and pick 16.
  2. The irony is that the Irish who come over end up being accurate kicks. The same could be said of Mason Cox. Their kicking action may not look pure, but the only thing that matters is the ball drop. The two examples of players who went from being poor kicks for goal to reliable, are Stewart Loewe and Russell Robertson. So it is achievable. But as others have mentioned, it's where we are taking the shots that hurts us.
  3. That's more plausible. They have draft capital and he is a WA boy.
  4. 100%, and he's a WA boy so there's no go home factor. The Dogs played hard ball with Dunkley, and he stayed. They'll do the same with Naughton, even if the rumour is true. It's a million to one that he plays for the Dees next year, so factoring him into the Jackson trade is a pointless exercise.
  5. Are you serious? I believe in the loading, but it's designed so you reach peak fitness levels weeks out from finals, and maintain those levels for the remainder of the year. What's the point of having a team at it's optimal level come Prelim Final when you might not be in it?
  6. Georgiades is the player I'd be targeting. JT had him in our sights on draft night, so the interest was there. But unless we change up our game plan of ignoring leading forwards, a player like Georgiades would be under utilised. It seems like a big bodied, bash and crash style forward is what our coaching dept would want. Not many around, and they generally get banged up.
  7. We'll pay for his Uber eats delivery.
  8. Easy. ANB. JVR needs to come in. We need another tall option who will compete.
  9. Are you deaf? His work rate was immense. At one stage he was in the Pies goal square. The problem is that when he pushes up to the wing, Max is the only tall who provides a presence up forward.
  10. BBB was enormous last night. If people are expecting him to do all the donkey work in the air as our lone KPF, and provide defensive pressure, they are kidding themselves. Our mid/small forwards are letting us down. And if the Unicorn is agile enough to play as a mid as some say, then he's capable enough of applying forward pressure.
  11. They had prior and hesitated. Clear free kicks. Stop watching games with red and blue glasses on.
  12. I almost thought that was the turning point. It was a poor decision by Gus to handball. He just needed to take the tackle, and it would have been a ball-up as he didn't have prior.
  13. You can't blame the players when this is an obvious team direction. And when someone like Brown clunks a mark, they're on a tight angle. How about occasionally kicking the ball laterally with a 30m pass, which opens up by sides of the ground. We've forgotten that the Harmes fat side kick to Fritsch in the G/F turned the tide.
  14. The umpires weren't the reason we lost. The free kicks that Elliott got were there. The umpires had a good game barring 1 or 2 errors.
  15. This. We are so predictable that it becomes infuriating. We don't take advantage of our clearance dominance.
  16. Quantify ANB's 22 pressure acts and subtract the number of times he fumbled or got caught with the ball. ANB fails the eye test. He's been a liability up forward for a while. Needs time at Casey.
  17. I got ridiculed for calling for ANB to be dropped this week. His defensive efforts fall short for what a liability he is in attack. How many times did he get caught with the ball or fumbled? Enough is enough. We need to take advantage when we have midfield dominance. Out: ANB, Rivers In: JVR, Bowey Hibbo was putrid tonight, but has been good most of the year.
  18. Just concede that the loading impact on results is miniscule. Total BS to say that it's a contributing factor to results. Every club contending for finals is loading to a certain extent, so any impact is neutralized. Some people think they are smarter than they actually are. Let's stop this nonsense.
  19. Why would Gold Coast want Harmes, ANB or be interested in Tom Mitchell. And if I'm GC, there's no way I'm trading Ben King for Jackson. King has committed to the club. He's worth Jackson plus a 1st round pick.
  20. At least the Buddy move will keep Jackson out of the spotlight for some time.
  21. Actually, just found out he's a restricted free agent, so nothing unless Sydney match.
  22. What's Hipwood's contractual status? Plus how does Brisbane satisfy the Swans with all their draft picks being utilised for father/sons Ashcroft and Fletcher?
  23. JVR named as an emergency ahead of Weid. Have the match committee ruled a line through Weid's name?
  24. Thought Goody was a bit coy about Harmes. He's the likely sub.
  25. Watts was traded after 2017, a year in which he was dropped from the team. We made the prelim the following year and won a flag 4 years after he was traded. There is no way you could say we would be better off with a 24yo Jack Watts, and that he'd be best 22. Watts was more skilled than Weid and statistically achieved more, but both suffer from the same trait of lacking competitiveness. Watts was traded for this reason.
