We've had the same problems for years even in the SB run of 16' we were poor in tbe redzone. Ryan was so off last night, he seemed uneasy all night. That final drive was like watching years playoff game, exactly the same. I'm not surprised by the result/performance, I don't hold great expectations of this Falcons side this season

Gees the season has crept up on me! I haven't followed the off season & pre season as closely as I usally would. But I'm back again for the tipping! Steelers, Rams, Jags Bring on Friday, day off on the couch for Falcons @ Philly then onto the G. What a day

I didn't even know these oulets existed anymore... May I ask where you went ?
-
Yep, keep getting the too many ticket problem... How can you as all members not be able to buy 7 tickets together absolute joke
-
Couldn't get tickets in the area we normally sit which is level 4 so barely prime spots.. Once I finally got in only single seats were for sale. Absolute bull$[censored]

Awesome stuff! What’s the name of the songs used ? -
Whilst the chance of top 4 are there it's unlikely we'll make it. So who do you want in the elimination final ? A win over GWS & we sew up 5th spot to set up a date with Geelong. If we lose to GWS & we could be playing anyone of Sydney or GWS in Sydney or Hawthorn. I'd take a win over GWS & hit the finals running against those pretenders Geelong. No way we lose to them for a 3rd time after the way we lost the previous 2
-
Very true. Makes sense to play it on a Sunday arvo, I'm not sure why they don't use that time slot for finals these days regardless.. I think the Saturday twlight is a shocking time for a final
-
Highly unlikely the Thursday night game would be in Melbourne I'd say that would be an interstate game if all games were in Melbourne I think they may play a Sunday game. If results go as they should my guess would be this: Thursday: WC vs Collingwood(optus) Friday: Richmond vs Sydney(MCG) Saturday Twlight: Hawthorn vs GWS (Etihad) Saturday night: Melbourne vs Geelong (MCG)

Gees I can't for tomorrow... Don't worry making finals, our finals series has begun. This club has been through hell & back since we played finals, the amount of [censored] we've gone through... Multiple rebuilds, multiple coaches, losing club legend after club legend, fined for tanking, wasted draft picks, losing scully, trengoves injury, mitch clark failure, missing finals by the smallest margin in history, 186, mulitple 100 point losses & even more 10 goal losses. We are the laughing stock of the competition & rival supporters "here Melbourne goes again". It stops tomorrow. These players need to stand up & be counted. If they wont do it for themselves then do it for us fans who have lived through it year after year, unlike the players this isn't a job or profession... It means more to us, we've been here long before they have & we'll be there long after they've gone. So for godsake do it for us if for nothing else. All most of us want is atleast a final, just to be apart of it & dare to dream if only for a short while. I hope a player or official is lurking here & passes this on to see what it means to us. Go Dees

Not keen on Weideman replacing Hogan. He hasn't shown anything in his games this year he's ready... As bad as Pedersen was I'd keep him in to releave TMac of ruck duties. I wouldn't mind seeing Hannan back into the side, he's a proven goal kicker. Play Petracca as a permanent forward also. In: Hannan, Melksham, Hibberd Out: Hogan, JKH, Spargo
-
F%#k it... All those crying poor us with the Hogan news on top of Lever & Viney well Collingwood & GWS have managed a top 4 spot with a worse injury list then us. Port lost Dixon for the season on the weekend... Lets just get on with it, I'm pretty confident we can knock off west coast this week regardless, we get Hibberd & Melksham back. Everyone's expecting us to fall in a hole these next 2 weeks so what have we got to lose, everyones going here Melbourne goes again.... We'll either prove them wrong or right, we either make finals or we don't. One things for certain we'll all be back again next year regardless so let's just bring on the next 2 weeks, enjoy it. What will be will be.

I feel your pain jshc... It’s a seriously tough gig following this mob. They taunt & tease with moments, quarters & games of brilliance yet fall back into terrible old habits. I wish I didn’t care as much as I do but the fact is I do, as much as they crush me with performances like yesterday I wouldn’t change it for the world. This year all I was hoping for was a finals appearance, I just want to get back there even for 1 game, I think back to my early to mid teens when we would make finals. The buzz in the air, the excitement in the crowd, when spring has sprung & the smell of finals footy is about, the roar of the crowd after the national anthem... I just want to be apart of it again even if it’s for a short time... Jimmy Bartel said last week we’ve gone from a side who would lose games to teams below them, we now beat them, we’ve just got to learn how to beat sides around us & above us. They’ve got 2 weeks to show us something, a finals spot is in their hands, they stuffed it up last year... Lets see how they go this year
-
It’s set up for us... We win out there is a very strong chance we finish 2nd. GWS injuries are piling up again & we know the loss of Gaff on field is huge for WC but who knows what the impact of the situation will have on the team from a moral/mental state point of view. The possibility of a double chance & potentially 2 home finals. It’s there if the boys are fairdinkum... I’m supremely confident this week. Sydney are nowhere, lost to GC 3 weeks ago (yes it was a better side then we faced but please no’one losers to GC at home) Essendon accounted for them fairly easily & they fell in against an injury plagued Collingwood side with a first gamer on buddy & a freak grubber kick off the ground from McCartin. We win this week & head to Perth full of confidence... We all need to embrace this, I sense the feeling of uneasiness & unrest of the potential what if scenarios.. We deserve to dream, instead of the dooms day “what if’s” embrace the glory “what if’s” we’ve been so negative as supporters for so long, we all need to go the footy this Sunday thinking “how goods this, round 21 & we’re fighting for a top 4/top 8 spot” What we’ve all wanted for so long, just a chance to have a legiment crack at it

Port vs West Coast this week is interesting... If we win out we'd want Port to win so we can jump WC but if we drop 1 it's better for WC to beat Port, unsure who to barrack for! FWIW I think we'll finish 5th. We'll go 2-1 in the remaining 3

Tex and Jenkins, softest big men in the game
JV7 replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
Do we really need a thread like this ? I for one think it's insulting to call any AFL footballer who goes out their week in week out and gives there all soft, while us armchair riders set back & have pot shots. Secondly why should we at all care about the way 2 Adelaide players go about it... We're on the verge of our 1st finals series in 12 years & were talking about this ? Thirdly I just think it's poor taste to start a topic on opposition players like this, we've probably had dozens of players who could have been criticised over last decade, be a little humble... -
I'm on a family holiday with the in-laws & travelling on Saturday arvo/night so Saturday arvo/night would be disastrous. Hoping for a sunday game, pi$$ed I'll miss the game live but watching at the pub in sunny port douglas will have to suffice!
-
Anyone got thoughts on when they think we will be playing round 23 Vs GWS ? It seems in previous years the AFL has released the fixture around this time so we may hear something this week. I think given the possible ramifications of our game channel 7 will be wanting it so I'd guessing we'll either Saturday night or Sunday 3:20pm slot... You'd think coming back from Perth the AFL wouldn't give us a 6 day break so Sunday 3:20pm seems most logical...
-
It can really go one of two ways... It spurs them on or the young group goes back into it's shell & it all turns to [censored].. We'll really find out how the end to last season sat with them, if it hurt as much as they say there is no way they let it happen again & miss the 8. I think we win 3 of the remaining 5. This week is beyond huge. Last week was massive in regards to top 4 & cementing top 8 spot but it's almost do or die this week.
-
You'll do your head in playing with the ladder predictor... Who'd have tipped the Suns over Sydney on the weekend. Having said that if results go the way they should, I have us finishing 5th 14 wins. At a minimum we must beat GC & 2 of Adelaide, Sydney, WC, GWS.. It actually makes me feel ill thinking about the final 5 weeks, I will not cope if we miss the 8 again

Following this mob is like taking drugs... They give you these almighty highs followed by these almighty lows. Following one of these lows you swear your done with them but as you slowly recover & come to, you already looking for the next high... I was that angry/devastated/gutted last night & today but I look at the ladder & see were 7th with a huge game against Adelaide coming up & thinking "if we win this". F%@k me this club does my head in, it can't be good for my mental state... Just like drugs
