Run home to Finals - 2018
It’s set up for us... We win out there is a very strong chance we finish 2nd. GWS injuries are piling up again & we know the loss of Gaff on field is huge for WC but who knows what the impact of the situation will have on the team from a moral/mental state point of view. The possibility of a double chance & potentially 2 home finals. It’s there if the boys are fairdinkum... I’m supremely confident this week. Sydney are nowhere, lost to GC 3 weeks ago (yes it was a better side then we faced but please no’one losers to GC at home) Essendon accounted for them fairly easily & they fell in against an injury plagued Collingwood side with a first gamer on buddy & a freak grubber kick off the ground from McCartin. We win this week & head to Perth full of confidence... We all need to embrace this, I sense the feeling of uneasiness & unrest of the potential what if scenarios.. We deserve to dream, instead of the dooms day “what if’s” embrace the glory “what if’s” we’ve been so negative as supporters for so long, we all need to go the footy this Sunday thinking “how goods this, round 21 & we’re fighting for a top 4/top 8 spot” What we’ve all wanted for so long, just a chance to have a legiment crack at it

Run home to Finals - 2018
Port vs West Coast this week is interesting... If we win out we'd want Port to win so we can jump WC but if we drop 1 it's better for WC to beat Port, unsure who to barrack for! FWIW I think we'll finish 5th. We'll go 2-1 in the remaining 3

Run home to Finals - 2018
It can really go one of two ways... It spurs them on or the young group goes back into it's shell & it all turns to [censored].. We'll really find out how the end to last season sat with them, if it hurt as much as they say there is no way they let it happen again & miss the 8. I think we win 3 of the remaining 5. This week is beyond huge. Last week was massive in regards to top 4 & cementing top 8 spot but it's almost do or die this week.

Run home to Finals - 2018
You'll do your head in playing with the ladder predictor... Who'd have tipped the Suns over Sydney on the weekend. Having said that if results go the way they should, I have us finishing 5th 14 wins. At a minimum we must beat GC & 2 of Adelaide, Sydney, WC, GWS.. It actually makes me feel ill thinking about the final 5 weeks, I will not cope if we miss the 8 again

Farewell Dean Kent
I do like Kent as a player... His career is summed up with his 2018 season so far. Plays 2 good games then injured... Disappointing he can’t get a free run at it as I think he has the attributes & talent to be best 18. Will have to see how the back half of the year pans out before I’d be shipping him out the door

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Couple of things on Brendan. He must take a huge amount of credit for our contested brand of footy & developing the like of Oliver, Gus, Viney, pretty much the whole list in the aggressive, hard footy we play. He did it with the dogs and built them for that 2016 flag, Beveridge just added the icing & he’s had a huge impact here. Secondly, interesting since he has gone to the bench it has conincided with our current form... Don’t know what to read into it but it’s interesting

I too find it extremely odd to Gorg aswell as draft picks having to "agree to terms" once picked. Didn't Joey Bosa hold out the year he was picked up ? Extraordinary that can happen

Anyone for cricket?
Absolute disgrace... Smith & the rest of the leadership group must be stood down & not played in the next test. Screw the series even if we can potentially draw it in the 4th. Funnily enough I was told from an inside source Renshaw didn't get along with Smith & co and wasn't "one of the boys" maybe they'vetried it on him before & he stood up to them and said no, maybe that's why he was left out pre ashes.

Injury List - Season 2018
The club isn't going to know how Viney or anyone for that matter responds when they ramp up their training... I'm sure 2 weeks ago the aim was round 1 for Viney. He joins in full training & pulls up sore, how can the club know how he'll pull up & respond. Same with TMac, he missed the last JLT with the hope he'll respond with 2 weeks rest & clearly he hasn't & now the best course of action is to be cautious & rest it... They could miss 12+ weeks until they join in training & pull up fine no'one will know

Great stuff @Dappa Dan enjoy it! Very well deserved, who'd have thought when Wentz went down this would be the ending!

Man I do envy you, it was great this time last year! I know the feelings... I was worried, nervous, sick, excited, happy all at the same time. Was an overwhelming feeling when I knew we were going to make it to the SB... Just enjoy it!

It's a tough one... I'd go the Saints purely because your offense would move the ball eaiser on their D rather than the Vikings
-
NFL
He could have just wrapped him up in a tackle & it would have been over.. They wouldn't of had time to get to the line & clock the ball for a FG attempt. All he litreally had to do was hold him up where he was & the Saints win the ball game

NFL
Oh my god... Just when you think you've seen it all in this sport

Jags, wow. Anytime to go into Pittsburgh & win is big but to do it in a playoff game.. Hats off to them. Congrats Clint. I actually think the Jags defense could give the Pats & Brady some trouble. Just shows as others have posted above, all our teams(I think) in this forum have had some recent success as in making the playoffs in the last 2 seasons alone... Would be hard to say the same about the AFL with a group of different supporter bases.

Yeah in hindsight we are 11-0 when we score 20 & now 0-7 when we don't, so looking back scoring 20 on that eagles defense in those conditions at home would have always been a struggle. Our biggest problem all year has not been able to convert in the redzone so fitting that's how our season ended. That FG on half time hurt, should have been an interception & maybe 3 to us. Also that shovel pass on 2nd & goal on the last drive, wtf was Sarkisian thinking... I'm not too angry about it, I never really thought it was going to be our year

NFL
I can't trust Bortles but if your defense can get some takeaways & points like they did in week 5 against the Steelers than you'd be a huge chance.. Guessing Bell will be a bit factor so nullifying the run and forcing big Ben into throwing will be a bit factor. I'll be cheering the Jags on, good to see different sides contending & us fellow demons need to stick together so some of us can experience some success

@Dappa Dan thoughts on this weekend at Philly ? Reckon the Eagles will hit the Falcons with the run. Ajayi ran shreds through us early in the year with Miami... I reckon the noise about Foles is a bit over the top, yeah he's no wentz but he's no slouch. The falcons record against back up QBs since I started follwing them has been horrendous. As the week goes on the less confident I've got.

NFL
Not that a follow college all that much but man the city of Atlanta must have pi$$ed off the footballs somewhere.. First the SB now Georgia blow a 20-7 lead & lose the championship game in OT... Wow

NFL
Falcons 20 @ Philly 16 Titans 10 @ Patriots 27 Jags 13 @ Steelers 17 Saints 23 @ Vikings 20 Falcons @ Saints NFCCG That'd be huge.

NFL
Btw that no call on Watkins on 4th & goal for a hold was rubbish. Jones was all over him

NFL
Hard luck Gorg... You are right though, have to be happy with the improvements made in year 1 under McVay, the future is bright. I think the experience helped the Falcons & like Macca said they controlled TOP. Quinn gets the D playing right at the right time of year again. A foles lead Philly next opens it up a bit
