  1. He might have class Ron but he doesn't get the ball. He is a fair weather footballer. He needs to be left up forward and let the men get the ball to him otherwise bye bye.
  2. Forget your apprentices. One man for me and for all at Melbourne; Alistair (King Hit) Clarkson. Ex Melbourne player, dual premiership coach, he will be just the man we need when Roosy is done.
  3. I think you could be right. Obviously he needs to improve in a few areas but his size strength and speed make him quite unique. He definitely needs to be coached to take the game on more and use these natural attributes. Like Mumford he should be smashing into opponents and tackling hard. He has the pace to chase anyone down. These sort of acts in a team game really boost the moral and we need plenty of this. IMO Jamar is finished, need to see more of Gawn but I did like what I saw at times from him last year; he did seem to have an uncanny knack of accidentally hurting others a bit like Earl Spaulding. Spencer is like this as well. We need to hurt the opposition and put a bit of terror into them like the way big strawbs used to. We also have another young ruckman that looked pretty good pre season don't we?
  4. We are in this game up to our eye balls. At least if the players want it bad enough. The new recruits will want a win, Roosy included. My concerns as usual are what we are going to get from Frawley, Grimes and Watts. Would like to see Nicholson included, I like his pace and disposal and believe he should get more of a go. Lets take em on!
  5. Jamar is finished. He was finished several years ago.
  6. Thanks Biffen. I'm certainly no actor or criminal, however some of the things I've posted on here; others think are criminal. The beards clean at least at the start of the day.
  7. Two men enter, one man leaves; Thunder dome!
  8. Jackaub, It will take some time but as long as the right calls are made on players it can turn around pretty quick. Lets just hope Roos can confront those tough decisions and can actually see who should go and who we keep and pick up. If and its a BIG IF, we can start making these right calls we will start to roll again and the brand will be fine.
  9. Sassy Sassy Sassy. trengove is averaging 22 touches a game, no impact he's not up to it. I like the guy and can see he gives his all but we need better to get off the bottom. I'm not on Toumpees back I just think he's not ready and may never be. silly pick. should stay in seconds until he has really earned his spot Frawley is overrated. Its not his fault the media and forums like this build guys up to be players they are not. He's been struggling for a long while. Grimes is not up to the standard. Don't know how long it will take for Roos to confront this but it is a big reason as to why we are so hopeless. Many of our players are not up to the standard and our Co Captain is a stand out. Other clubs know this, they intercept his kicks at will. He is so predictable. Cant fault his courage though but unfortunately that's not all there is to it. Watts BOG in round one yippee! We lost didn't we? still haven't seen him get a hard ball but I have seen him shirk it many times. This experiment is a monumental failure. There are probably others but I have to work out how to change my photo. Sassy I hope you enjoy my new look
  10. You guys just made me laugh a lot. I will see what I can do I'm not really good with working this thing but I will try to put up a different look.
  11. he's a game breaker all right he broke the game St Kilda's way in round one.
  12. Now your really messing with me. funny
  13. Why you little, could you be clearer? I'm not sure I fully understand. Sarcasm perhaps.
  14. One thing is for sure we have to get in the game. Let Frawley go and lets go get some talent, some performing talent.
  15. Now your talking lets go for Cameron rather than Patton. Cameron reminds me more of Tony Lockett
  16. I agree nutbean develop them in the reserves. In your opinion then how many years should we develop a player before we decide he's not up to it? And yes maybe I should apply for a recruiters job. When I first heard that Watts had never been in a fight and that Darling had been in plenty I suspected we had made a mistake. I was hoping to be proven wrong though, as like you all I wanted Watts to be our next Neitz. He hasn't developed and lacks a key essential to become great; he doesn't want it bad enough, he has no ticker. Ouch! this hurts us all and is a major problem with our list. Dennis Pagan used to do it well at Nth Melb. He would take his four worst players from the seniors that week and pair them up with his four best from the reserves. he would tell them that there are only four spots available and then watch them at training all week smash into each other to see who wanted that spot the most. That's what I call development and that's what we have to find at Melbourne the 22 who want it the most. Move the others on and bring new ones in. At Melbourne too many players get games who don't deserve it.
  17. Mydee I would put you in charge of the marketing department right now. You are spot on we do have to work a lot harder and smarter than other clubs but it can be done. Those ideas are brilliant.
