  1. I had a wonderful, pressure relieving epiphany a few days ago. All we supposedly know, is what the mostly detestable media pundits have told us, and given my general distrust of said pundits, I really actually know very little at all.. I’m sure there is truth to everything we’ve heard, but who actually knows but the club, and the player. In any case, anything we have heard has become pained and distorted either with intent by Morris, Cornes et al, or by us, in our Dees obsessed, fanatical handwringing. It’s caused me to stop scrutinising and dissecting every shred of info. Pure bliss.
  2. It creates an image about Oliver to me.. 2 days ago: “I love the club, owe them a debt.” 2 days later: Shown some pretty paddocks and told he’s the best… “oh that sounds awesome I want to do that” 2 short planks come to mind. Infuriating. Just one long shambles. I just want to support my footy team, not deal with all the drama.
  3. If what I say above proves accurate.. the thing I would hate about it the most is it would prove Cornes right.. Sickening.
  4. You know.. I’m finding myself increasingly moving in this direction. Maybe he has been the root of all problems culturally for several years now and we need to accept the short term pain to move forward for the next 5 years and beyond. I’m also a little surprised at how outraged I’ve felt. He was not good this year.. and even when he was winning the ball, he was blindly throwing the ball on his boot, inevitably to an opposition player who would rebound the other way. Time and again. Opposition teams could rely on it. Maybe him moving on will allow us to reset the culture. Maybe it is what is needed to satisfy Petracca. And maybe it will go some way to fixing our offensive issues. I don’t know.. but maybe it would turn out to be the right thing..?
  5. What happened to him travelling up to QLD with Max for a pre season camp? “Wants to repay the club”… etc I’m starting to wonder if we maybe do need to blow it up.. Will the me, me, me personalities of Oliver and Petracca ever see us move out of the constant media circus.
  6. The media smells blood and is trying to squeeze the last drop of blood.. it’s a feeding frenzy. Pathetic.. I’m despondent at the whole show, but I have a special dose of disgust for the media is all this. I can’t believe that with ANB going, Brayshaw gone, and Petracca losing his mind that the club would ever entertain a Kozzy trade. They would promise him the world to keep him. Just enormous pressure on Goodwin and his allegedly strong relationship with the players
  7. Give me a spell.. There are far too many AFL “journalists”
  8. Imagine if this was all just an elaborate scheme to embarrass Tom Morris..
  9. I generally agree and want more from sparrow.. I was personally fine with him > Jordan.. if it was a choice. But I still thought he did a good job of quelling Neales influence for a lot of the match..
  10. Gutted.. but I can’t fault the effort at all. Were always going to find it hard to close it out given youth, 6 day break etc.. Would love to kick straight for once, but neither did they so a wash on that front.. still, one goal would’ve been enough in the last. Fan of Moniz.. had a real crack and has some dare about him. Love Kolts attitude.
  11. Gutted.. but, still super proud of the boys. Terrific effort in a really difficult assignment.
  12. Fascinated to see the impact of having lever back.. not a coincidence that our form dropped away when he left the team. Critical for structure and leadership
  13. You’d be heartbroken but so enthusiastic if you were a north supporter.. so much to like in that performance
  14. You’d be heartbroken but so enthusiastic if you were a north supporter.. so much to like in that performance
  15. Have to work out what the hell to do with Oliver.. no idea personally. Seems way underdone
  16. This comment.. offers nothing
  17. Thought we were totally done 5 mins to go… Windsor the two frees that gave them goals at the start… gave them all the momentum
  18. Does that surprise you after spending time on this site?
  19. Ground ball such an issue.. just never one grabbing. Never clean
  20. Fritsch and Kozzy looking for the easy, flashy possession is KILLLING me… What to do about Oliver? Does he go forward..? Can’t play him in the middle right now..
  21. I’m going to refer back to my previous post in the trac injury thread about the desperate pile on the dees… This is pathetic from the AFL media. Pathetic.
  22. See my subsequent post.. I don’t accept that there was a lack of duty of care (ie. appropriate due process was followed)
  23. Don’t get me wrong.. he hasn’t been up to the standard or intensity for ages (when playing).. but geez I could do with some Spargo delivery inside 50
  24. “Ok so it looks like you’ve got broken ribs, are you feeling faint” ”No” ”Are you feeling nauseous” ”No” ”Coughing up any blood, breathing ok” ”No, yep” ”Ok well like I said we think you’ve got broken ribs, it doesn’t seem like there is any other involvement, so it’s up to you. We can give you a jab, but you’ll be very uncomfortable?” ”Understood, I want to try” Tries, fails, gets taken off and sent to hospital. Obviously I have no idea if that was the exchange.. but it seems logical and reasonable, and in my view entirely appropriate.
  25. I’m getting so sick of the desperate pile on the club has been subjected to from everyone outside, and seemingly many others inside the club… the furore around him getting put back on the field is the next example. The AFL community, and especially the media, have been death riding Melbourne since the finals last year.. starting with the exit, continuing with May’s Collingwood comments and for just about every week thereafter. Should Petracca have gone back on? No with hindsight… was a single person saying that when he ran back on? No.. it was, how brave.. Do you really think they would’ve just tapped his chest a few times and said, “you’ll be right son, off you go”. I have no doubt due process was followed, as the club will no doubt be forced in to saying in a statement of reply. Don’t get sucked in by the garbage media commentary.. This is your Dees. Stick by them.
