  1. So how many points do coast need to win by?
  2. If we make finals, we deserve finals. This whole 'we don't deserve to be in finals' is crap. Are we ready for finals? No way..
  3. Keilty has been upgraded.. Saw it mentioned somewhere on here that TMac is nursing a slight knee niggle so I guess he'll be the replacement. Now we know why Frosty was so glum at training, perhaps justifiably so.
  4. If I had to drop one of Vince, Lewis, Tyson or Jones... it'd have to be Vince for me.
  5. I just don't get people calling for Tyson to be dropped. Makes me think I know nothing about footy..
  6. Out: Wagner, Stretch, Hannan In: Salem, Viney, Watts Frost is close, Hannan maybe unlucky. But watts can play his role, is a better set shot and more dangerous kick inside 50. On watts to make sure he can equal defensive pressure, he does that and it's a big upgrade for me.
  7. 20 touches, and 12 marks for a CHF... feel like he has to work 50% harder than everyone else to get recognition. It seems like it's between Watts and Hannan at the moment. Hannan has been missing for large sections of game time recently, if he has sub 10 touches again tomorrow then it's a no brainer for me.
  8. With Hogan out, I'd say all Goody wants is for Weideman to jump at the ball. As long as he's bringing it to ground, then we're in with a big chance. Hannan really does have a huge role to play on Sunday!
  9. I needed to find solace after convincing myself that Goodwin was making a massive mistake, so I went away, looked back on some results, and reminded myself of what we achieved earlier this year while undermanned and have managed to restore a little confidence/sanity. Copuchas made some good points in my mind, and they did occur to me. What good is finals if we don’t have the required intensity to compete once we get there? And that’s the key issue. Goody wants 100% intensity, 100% of the time. It’s also something that Salem seems to switch in and out of. Fair enough. Can’t really disagree. I’m sure the other factor with Jack is that as much as we all recognise he’s a great distributor, he’s also playing either full forward or centre half forward, every week. He needs to be able to take a contested market, let alone an uncontested mark. And he’s not doing that. Fair enough. (Took all my strength to write this as an unabashed Watts defender).
  10. Confirmed: Melbourne FC‏Verified account @melbournefc Follow More Goodwin: Jack Watts will play in the VFL this week. He hasn't been playing at the level we or he expects. He understands that #MFCMedia 6:50 PM - 10 Aug 2017
  11. Right... I assumed Casey boys would still be at training, even if just for skills. Sigh..
  12. Julian de Stoop just tweeted that there was no sign of Watts at training... I guess that provides confirmation that he's carrying an injury??
  13. Arguable given the ball use, but perhaps. But those numbers then take me back to a previous point, it's a statement. Which is an unbelievably risky thing to do in such a game. He may be in bad form, but out of the options at our disposal, he's the 'most' in-form... and has the greatest game winning potential/Weidemans set shot has been awful.
  14. I just can't let this one go... Watts had 1g, 10d, 3m and 2t last week. Pedersen had 1g, 8d, 3m, and 2t Weideman had 1g, 9d, 3m, and 3t IN THE VFL. Watts has played some big roles in AFL, this year. Just a few months ago. While Weideman has shown signs, but never consistent and often awol. How can anyone justify Watts being dropped, for effectively a final. He must be carrying and injury, because it just makes no bloody sense to me.
  15. If true re Watts then I am very concerned. Goody himself admitted we butchered the ball last week and he responds by omitting our two best ball users?? Makes no sense, and I am very nervous about this game.
  16. While he may deserve to, this is not a game to be making a statement. If he goes then we have pedo and weideman as the talls up forward... that.. is terrifying.
  17. Watts was definitely improved in the 2H last week, in fact I thought he was better than pedo all game. Dropping him this week would be a big mistake in my mind. Hes played some big roles in big games over the last couple of years, I would absolutely back him in to do it again.
  18. Those calling watts out I understand, but he was better than pedo who offered nothing, and he got better. Get him in as relief ruck, he needs to be around the ball. Badly needed run, reckon we missed Hannan. What's going on with Hunt?
  19. Outstanding! I haven't been rickrolled in a long time!!
  20. Missed jones and Viney in that 2nd half badly! Most of all, seriously missed Salem. Disposal out of the back half was terrible. We looked cooked. Consecutive 6 day breaks, coming back from Perth, undermanned, sore... Im proud of the effort. Always a bridge too far.
  21. Classic case of contriving a headline to suit an agenda. I listened to the presser and he gave no indication that this was a focus, simply that he was a good player and would be considered as a part of their usual planning. Having said that, I would tag him and tag him hard.
  22. I thought Weids made a contest in the first couple of weeks, but haven't seen a lot of it since. How many times did he overrun the drop of the ball yesterday, infuriating! Surprised no one is mentioning Kennedy, he's the one who comes in for Kent for me (who I agree was dreadful). Melksham has to come back in, at the expense of Bugg I'd say. I have no idea how to solve the lack of talls situation other than to say we are desperately missing Gawn. He would've been able to drift back and sit in the d50 when required yesterday, and similarly provided a more reliable target up forward. But we got murdered in the ruck. I know we won the clearances, but our clearances are often scrappy and achieved by sheer will. Some of the hit outs to advantage for the roos saw them stream out of the square without a hand being laid. Being able to deliver kicks inside 50 without pressure is always going to make it hard to defend. Out: Kent, Bugg, Weideman (but for who?) In: Kennedy, Melkham, (King, ANB, Smith, Trengove, Harmes, help...) Actually, as I wrote that it occurred to me that Harmes has good vertical on him. So maybe Harmes for Weids, tell him to tackle and fly at the footy. Not perfect, but Weids is miles off.
  23. Reckon Bugg has been spared so he can go to Sloane. Want to see him wear Sloane like a glove.
  24. Doesn't look too bad from that live play.. enough for me to buy it I think!
  25. Just saw that, twitter is saying EB Games have released early.. Would love an update if anyone's got their hands on it!
