Saintsational Rematch - Sunday, February 17, 1.30pm

Featured Replies

I had so much fun in our last game that I am putting my hand up again. I will play the same position again as I did in the last game at Full Back. Hopefully we can have a win this time. Would we be able to use Sandringham or Morrabbin for the game???

If it's at Glenferrie Oval, I might come and lead the cheersquad. ;)

It's the day after our first NAB cup game so hopefully the team will be inspired..

I can't confirm yet. I'll have to wait closer to the date because with uni starting etc it might be a bit tricky around that time but I'd definitely like to play if possible. Do you guys wear runners or football boots? I'm not a big fan of runners but if the ground is rock hard then I might not have a choice.

I'll have a run this time again, was a good day last year. I usually play in the forward pocket but there taken so put me down for a back pocket.

hey all, sorry been camping for 2 weeks, im in fo sho!!! FF is gone, im shattered!! but ummm CHF if you dont think im too small. if not ill play on ball

cheers

In regards to the Gosch's Park comment, I'm never in favour of asking councils etc because they will almost always say no (public liability etc etc.).

So thats why I thought it would be risky..

It's a good option and a great ground but more likely to busy then say Glenferrie or Moorabbin....

I'd love to play there, but what do ya reckon?

"been camping for 2 weeks"...

hey, cactus...

with all the rotations whispering jack and redleg pulled last game, I am sure people will end up where they can do the team most good...

we might remind redleg (if he agrees to coach this time) that you kicked a lazy 7 in game(2)...

CHF rotating the ruck like last time suits me.

"CHF rotating the ruck like last time suits me."

just heard, madness, that our 7' foot ruckman, cribbes, will probably not be available again this time...

after your heroics last game, you may find yourself starting (and finishing) in the ruck... ;)

I've got just the replacemet. 6'4" but with a massive vertical leap, three tme B&F with his club, agility, endurance and speed to burn. An absolute freak... He's also Demonlander, goes by the name of Blessed Hands. I'll speak to him this week and confirm him for the game.

In addition to myself in the back pocket i've managed to rope in a mate who's a keen dees fan so put 'Snake' down on the half back flank for now, he's a big lad and can play a bit so will give the backline some added toughness.

I'll warm the bench (or if it's really hot then I'll cool it down) for the start of the game and then maybe move onto a back flank as the game progresses.

Add "I'm too hot" to the playing list and "legend" to the drinking list

Good news! Two of my mates Travis and David want to play. They don't follow the Dees or Demonland but are very keen for a run. They'll be passionate and one-eyed on the day foresure!

Please slot them onto the Interchange bench or wherever there is a spot.

IN: Travis & David (any free position) preferably back pocket for Travis and David Interchange if nothing available.

I'll be bringing Dianne with me too (Hawks supporter & Hawks Forum member) - she was my official photographer for our match in Nov 2006, she's ready for another crack at official game day photo genuis!

Hoping I can also lure Marfa (Demonland poster) to come and support. Games are just not the same without her there on the sidelines! ;)

i won't be able to play due to cricket, however my mate Cribbes (6ft 9) or something like that has just called me saying he is keen to play.

His a ruckman.

He also says a few mates of his a keen.

So that is Cribbes (ruck) Cribbes mate (wherever) Cribbes other mate (wherever) Cribbes other other mate (wherever)

So that is Cribbes (ruck) Cribbes mate (wherever) Cribbes other mate (wherever) Cribbes other other mate (wherever)

lol that's gonna be pretty confusing for calling out names when other mate & other other mate get the ball.

Add TSF down, on the ball, wing whatever is fine. Filth is away atm i will ask him when he returns, will keep in contact about more numbers if needed.

Cheers for the pm rollo.

I'm keen for a run, it's looking like there are no positions left on the field so just put me down on the interchange bench, cheers.

"no positions left"

don't worry, wrecker, our experience is that we can never get enough numbers...

in one celebrated game, we had an over-flowing bench on paper but only 14 players had shown up by game start...

if we can finally get lots of numbers, it will be stinking hot and lots and lots of rotations will be the order of the day...

Yeah, if there's anybody who looks at the sheet and sees that it's full, put your name down anyways coz there's bound to be people who pull out last minute. Even if we do have a bench of 10, everybody will get a good run.

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
