According to today's Herald Sun - Demons sign Reebok deal which tells of some new mfc sponsorships, there will be a meeting at the Melbourne Town Hall next Friday night, where the new logo and other key announcements will be made. Is this invitation only or what?

Why would you be invited? It sounds like a sponsor\potential sponsor media event to me.

And don't tell me - the Queen is holding a function at Buckingham Palace next week and hasn't invited you either.

What a [censored]!!!

Good to see we have sponsorship coming from the winemaker Tyrrell's also. I guess that means a few more opportunities for Carroll and Co to get drunk for free and cause trouble here instead of waiting to go overseas.

Does the reebok deal mean that all players need to wear Reebok boots or what? Or is it just dark blue reebok undies under the shorts?

Yeah that was the basis of the Koutoufidies saga in 2001 (I think 01, maybe 99?), he had his sponsorship with adidas while Carlton were sponsored by Nike (or something along those lines).

Now players wear whatever they like, but they get better access to the boots that the clubs gear sponsor provides, naturally.

Yeah - but Lizzie always invites us to that footy game on her birthday. It has been very enjoyable in recent years.

to those that know...whats the go with a switch to Reebok.. better money.. or Asics not interested any more ?

I'd say the contract ran out and Reebok were willing to put up the cash this time around...

I believe my Dad is going.... He is on a business trip to some country at the moment but I will find out when he gets back.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
