"numbers wise at the moment you guys look you'd make the 21st or 28th......."

I would have said just the opposite, HD... <_<

but let's give it a couple of days more...

by the way, is there a thread for this on saintsational ??

we need to hear at least from robbo24 IMO, because he has access to a core of players essential to our mid-field and spine...

COME IN, ROBBO24 !!

I've put myself on the wing for now but given my relatively low fitness I may have to rotate across the forward line as well.

Thanks Fuzz.

"....I take it HD is organising the umpire??"

last time, HD WAS the umpire, mfc...

I guess you were too busy kicking goals to notice...

I'll put myself down as a tentative YES at this stage.

Will confirm closer to the date...

I've always been a wingman

I've always been a wingman

Move me into the center and you can have my spot

well done, people...

I will be happy to spruik on demonology, mfc, but I don't have any skills as coach...

we may be able to persuade whispering jack...

I'm interested in coaching but isn't the era of us old guys as coaches over? I would have thought it was time for one of those innovative shaven headed younger blokes to take over.

Anyhow, I'll do it if someone can talk Chris Judd or Finks into being my assistant coach. How's that?

Wanna put me down in the forward pocket? More of a burst player, lazy mercurial forward, like Aaron Davey, without the pace and accuracy!

Seriously though, I'm up or it. It's a crap time of year, but you've gotta have fun still!

mickrocks1 & coxy - I made the changes

whispering jack - i've penciled you in as coach for the time being ;)

cameron the bruce - your on {forward pocket}

P.S Someone needs to make contact with that tall 6'8 guy....!!

lacking wise monkey, and imtoohot, and with freak playing with injury, we have no mid-field...

also without robbo24...

and cribbes, his 6'8" mate...

without doggo24...

this whole arranement looks like a house of cards...

still willing to give it a couple of days for more people to come forward, but...

I have to agree with you rollo, we need all those names you mentioned.

We'll just keep rolling with what we have for the moment until we get overwhelming interest. We need those guys. What about DIESEL??

i'm willing to play of the half back flank. I get around 12 over the 100metre sprint and have a very trusty left foot. I play on the wing for my club team and my school team. I try and model my game on Adem Yze as my friends admit i have a few freakish abillities. I also win read the play well and have pretty safe hands. Guys i'm 16yrd so you'd think i'm a bit young but i'm around 179cm tall so i dont think i'll be the smallest playing.

Once again i am willing to play but if i were to play, would you be able to give me the details as to which area where playing.

thanks.

Gees I must be an ordinary player lol.

I wasnt the umpire at all, my old man was.

I actually play, curly haired bloke in the middle, kicked 5 in the first game, but all to no avail sadly...

and yes yipper will saddle up again as ump.

On second thoughts I don't need any assistants (apologies to Finks). The team should have enough motivation now.

I'm ordering 22 life sized cut outs of you know who for tackling practice.

we're gonna have to make up a system so we can work out which brownlow medalist who then played for collingwood we're reffering too when we say 'you know who'...

bad news is robbo24 has posted on demonology and can't make it this time round...

he will ask cribbes (the ruckman) but is not optimistic...

good news is the stynes factor has also posted there and wants to play, and may be able to bring some mates...

I have asked tsf to post soon with numbers and desired positions, and told him of our need for mid-fielders...

so the game is still possible...

let's see what happens over the next few days...

great news that you have changed your mind about coaching, WJ...

Thanks Fergburger, I'll add you to the HB flank.

All details have yet to be confirmed, but please keep an eye on this thread on the forum for all the latest updates.

If you know any other guys with "freakish abilities" let me know and I can add them to the Interchange list. ;)

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.

  • NON-MFC: Round 15

As the Demons head into their Bye Round, it's time to turn our attention to the other matches being played. Which teams are you tipping this week? And which results would be most favourable for the Demons if we can manage to turn our season around? Follow all the non-Melbourne games here and join the conversation as the ladder continues to take shape.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?
