Were you expecting one this year?

No Dees in All-Australian team

Shocking, really  !!!

Shocking, really  !!!

What no Godfrey??? How can it be??

roger hayden above heath shaw?

i thought he was a definite AA this year...couldnt make the top 40

What no Godfrey??? How can it be??

I know kryton, it is a true crime ;) !!!

The AA selectors have done a good job, unusually! I find it hard to argue with any of their top 40 list. Heath Shaw would be a bit unlucky but other than that I reckon they are on the money! The best Demons this year have been Jones and JMac and neither would be ahead of the midfield list selected.

Actually surprised that Tarkyn Lockyer didn't make the short list.

i couldnt care less how many dees get in, but i am stoked no pies did ;)

i couldnt care less how many dees get in, but i am stoked no pies did ;)

That does kind of give you the warm and fuzzies ;):P !!!

i can hear them whinging now 'oh but we have the best youth' and 'oh we are the best side'. you know what? you are scum and your players didnt make the AA shortlist, and we beat on queens bday. now go back to your trailer. lol

Like you all, I'm absolutely shocked there's no Dees in there this year.

My sarcasm meter is about to explode. So's my disinterest meter, for that matter.

Agree. Nasher in all truth we would struggle to get nominations in an AA 2nd or 3rd XXII.

I think Nathan Jones should have been looked at.

Other than that, there's not too many on our list that have had a great year.

Too many injuries - Just wait for next year.

Yep, it's hard to get AA selection when you've played 17 games or less... and since that covers all but half a dozen of our team, I guess that's the way it goes.

With a clean injury run Bell might have been a run at it in the back pocket. Definately one of the better players in the position.

Then again, with a clean injury run, I'm sure Rivers would have had CHB sewn up weeks ago ;)

No Dees in All-Australian team

All I can say is thank God.

The AA team is a joke

Jed Adcock? Hayden? Malceski? LOL

Jed Adcock? Hayden? Malceski? LOL

Whats wrong with adcock being in there? Have you watched him play?

Jed Adcock? Hayden? Malceski? LOL

I would love to see Adcock running around in a Melbourne jersey. IMHO he is exactly what we need.

I reckon he is an absolute monty to make the AA team.

if i was a forward and richo got picked before me i would be hanging my head in shame.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
