Pompey on the Brink. No Buyer - Player car boot sale - no dough. David Nugent and Marc Wilson brawled with steel coat hanger rails ripped from their hotel rooms after a 5am bust up on the turps. They will be disciplined in house.

Arsenal interested in Soloman Kalou - GG says come and take the useless pr!ck.

Reals Spending has now hit £220M so far with £30M for Alonso in Rafa's back pocket to splash.

Spurs ended up with £15M for Bent - nice coin for a pretender.

That's all for now.

Happy with that for Bent.

And Bolton has bought a whole back line and not one attacking midfielder (which we desperately need) and even another striker.

I so feel a team like this

Jussi

10 defenders

0 mids

0 strikers

sigh

Seems to have been revised down to 10m - still overpriced, but a bit more realistic after last year's horror show.

Indeed KW. Went from 13 to 15 to 10. Danile Levy tough negotiator. Niall Quinn better I'd say....

Wigan have just signed striker Scott Sinclair on a season-long loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Spurs miss out on Hunterlaar - off to AC Milan.

Tevez injured in the Man City shower, slipped over trying to pick up the soap could face tests next week to be fit. Knew The Devils fans will love to hear that one..... Wonder who tried to ram one into him? Ha!!!

Man City lost 3-2 to Rangers last night as well.

CHELSEA’S hopes of signing Andrea Pirlo are over after AC Milan insist he is not for sale

Graham, please tell me the new Spurs shirt will not see Premier League action.

Reminds me of the story of Leeds when they were "living the dream" of the player who wanted 10k per week, was hoping for 20k and nearly bit their hand off when he was offered 40k straight off the bat......

i'm a toon 'fan' (bandwagon 96/97, Shearer,etc..), and if i had a spare 100mil i would not touch them with a 10 foot pole..

the club is cursed. simple as that..

Well ferk me STT - Looks like someones got a barge pole after all!!!

Good news so far for ya buddy - The Bloke that had the distribution rights for that singing fish on a board - Big Mouth Billy Bass for those xmas sales a few years ago seems to have deep pockets and could bail out the Toon.

BARRY MOAT made his fortune out of a singing fish. Now he is close to talking his way into a £100million buy-out of Newcastle. Big Mouth Billy Bass was one the best sellers when Moat was at the helm of North East company Premier Direct.

Weekend wrap up:

Chelsea v Man U Community shield 2-2. Chelsea win 4-1 on pens. Rooney late equaliser forced the shootout which saw Giggs and Evra fluff shots and hand the Blues the first domestic silverware of the season.

Kops Jamie Carragher and Fernando Torres both limped off with minor ankle injuries in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Atletico Madrid.

SEBASTIEN BASSONG hit all the right notes for his new Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp yesterday. The centre-back, who arrived for an initial £8million last week from Newcastle, shone as Greek champs Olympiacos were slain 3-0 at the Lane

Transfer - Liverpool agree deal £20M for former Roma Midfielder Aquilani. Oddly wont play for at least 4-8 weeks from Ankle surgery though.

Aston Villa have confirmed that they have signed Habib Beye from Newcastle on a three-year deal.

Hull face a fight to keep Michael Turner away from Liverpool, who have been linked with Ryan Shawcross, while Gary Cahill is staying at Bolton.

5 days to go now.

Christ!! :o

I remember that darn singing fish. I know someone who received one as a birthday gift. Needless to say, the novelty wore off after about 2 minutes...

So this bloke is a mate of Mike Ashley's huh? That'll go down well with the locals who've wanted to lynch Ashley for the past 12 months.

Ah well, another lamb to the slaughter eh? ;)

Former Melbourne Victory Keeper Michael Theoklitoros had a howler in Norwich's opener against League 1 Colchester. He let in 7!

Yeah but really a comntract for 3 years is only worth it if no one comes in for him with a bigger offer, and if he continues to grow like he did last year some one will.

Noticed on Fox Sports last night, Lucas Neill still doesn't have a club. He's got West Hams's offer, but he's weighing up two other offers, one of them is believed to be Kewell's side in Turkey. He's taking his time, will settle his decision within the next week.

One of those is reportedly Sunderland. THat's where I'd rather see him play than some arab pub team......

Pim left him out of the Ausiie team last night to concentrate on his offer..

Step back going to Turkey, the only real competion he will have will be champions league stuff and a few games a year, better of staying at wet spam or that big club Sunderland :)

Not Long to go now! Carn the Chels!

Indeed CTB!

Yee Ha! We're off and running......

Chelsea last gasp 2-1 over Hull - Drogba impossible angle slotted it.

Everton 1 - Gooners......6!

Fabregas nets a couple as Gallas Denilson, Vermaelan and Eduardo pick up the rest.

Wolves (welcome) but 0 - West Ham 2

Zola will resign if forced by board to sell top players to clear debt.

Pompey 0 - Fulham 1

Deflection of Zamoras right ar$e cheek!

Villa 0 - Wigan 2

Blackburn 0 - City 2

Top-class finish from "Adebayor Adebayor..... but his Dad Washes Elephants.......... and his mum is a [censored]......."

Cuppla games on today (tonight your time) Super Sunday:

Spurs V Kop the one to watch

Man U V Brummie = Dont bother. Massacre waiting to happen.

GG

Well it's started.....

MEGSON OUT!!!!

What a load of tripe, he bought in a tonne of defenders when we need some creative mids and then moans that they did not play like a team with the confidence to pass it around

YOU PLAYED MCCANN YOU [censored]! worst passer of the ball ever! Can tackle and get niggly and thats about it, long year for the trotters I feel.

Come back BSA we miss you!

Any fellow ManU fans out there with worries about Owen? How he didn't go for a sidestep around the goalie in his last attack was beyond me. He's lost a yard which is expected and the club has been a bit prudent with the wallet but still expected better instinct there in an experienced player.

Makes me ill just thinking it but I reckon Chelsea will be the team to beat this season for the LC.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
