FOX FM Gotcha Call

Did anyone hear the Gotcha call on Fox yesterday? It was a guy called Angelo (from Dromana?) who is a die hard passionate demons supporter. Matt Tilley called him pretending to be from a Sports Radio station conducting a trivia quizz all related to the Demons.

Off course Angelo was getting all the questions right but they kept saying he was wrong and the other contestant was right - after a while Angelo lost it.

Can't remember them all but

1) What is the first line of the MFC song?

Angelo: It's a Grand Old Flag

No, I'm afraid that's wrong - other contestant says "It's a mighty old flag"

2) What number did Robbie Flower wear

Angelo: 2

Other contestant: No it was number 7

Then there was the Brownlow question

Name the last MFC player to win a brownlow. Angelo said "Jimmy Stynes" and the other bloke says "Garry Lyon" The commentator said Garry Lyon is correct at which stage Angelo lost it. Saying the contest was crap and the answers were all wrong.

Um........Angelo.......2 words: SHANE WOEWODIN!!!! I think that was the funniest part of the whole gotcha call - the fact that they were all wrong!

It was pretty funny though........

Thanks for the link - it is funny. I love the "Roy" Jakovich one - that's when Angelo really starts firing up.

They didn't play all that stuff before it yesterday and it obviously is old when you listen to all of that - when did we towel up Carlton????

Classic! Me and my dad chatted to him after the Port game where we were robbed and he seemed like one of the most passionate guys i've ever met so it didn't surprise me to hear him get fired up, hell i'd get [censored] too!

Whats a pissa!!!! I would have fired up heaps worse than that tho.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
