Some of the most unaccountable footy I’ve seen since Neeld days. Windsor needs to learn to defend a man

Windsor 7 touches , 4 in the first three minutes

Tmac horrible, too old to be playing every week, been out marked by kids.

Good servant too club, but don't see how it helps us long term, especially when we get flogged by ****less side in comp

He was crucified by the umpires early. Paid against for shepherding where a forward would be lauded for protecting the ball drop and then not called when he got shoved square in the back. His mobility isn't what it was, but when you take his contested strength away through atrocious umpiring, what can he do.

Outcoached

T Mac shouldn't have played

Windsor wasted on the inside. Bit like chucking Lachie Whitfield in the guts in hope.

47 yrs a supporter.

And I knew we would get beat.

Just happens too often, that we lose these type of games.

Just play all the kids and get games into them.

Our backline has absolutely no skill by foot, teams just sit off lever, McDonald and co. Knowing they will just butchers ball.

This loss was not unexpected, it just sucks that it's Essendon ... again.

We looked tired after an energetic month, and have relied on a few individuals to dominate. On top of that we were a bit predictable and didn't play to the conditions. They also targetted Gawn like teams do. We were there for the taking today.

The reality is though, King will get more out of this game going forward than if we just scrambled a small win. He needs to see how our players perform in all conditions and circumstances and learn how to change up the game style when required. He is developing along with the players.

Big picture.

Yeah what is Gary so excited about Traitor (LOL not really)

No, I hear you. Fair enough that he tries to be impartial, but he so often goes so far the other way that it seems like he actually enjoys seeing us get beaten.

Just shut the F#@*k in those moments Gary.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
