Not sure if we already have a category for Dees flics but I myself have been wondering if anyone would be interested in potentially finding a space to put our best training/game flics of our fav players and coaches for everyone to see. For the past few seasons I've really taken an interest to getting action shots and I think people would appreciate seeing how good the Melbourne boys look representing our club out on Gosh's, Casey or the G.

Thanks, Cam.

I think we’d probably need more space allowance if we were to create such a space… I’ve been having to constantly delete photos I’ve posted in my Ongoing Cancer Experience topic in the General Discussion forum as there simply isn’t enough space allocation;

I can understand that maybe Demonland does have storage limitations and so each user’s allocation is based on some simple formula that uses the number of registered members and overall storage available, but nevertheless, maybe it’s still something that @Demonland could look at?

Great idea Cam.

There are plenty of free image hosting companies on the interwebs that images can be uploaded to and then linked back to here.

I find postimages.org simple and easy to use.

What did you see? Accounts on Demonland only have a very limited amount of storage space to upload images. Using a Free Online Image Hosting company allows users to host the images elsewhere so that they can still post their content on here without having to exceed the limits on their accounts on DL.

I just had a look, and the Free plan says images up to 32mb… now is that a total allowance, in which case it is probably less that our account allowance here in Demonland. I’m also confused as I have no idea what “API access with 1,000 units per month” is referring to.

Probably per upload. You can upload as many times as you like. If required, I’m happy to post a step-by-step guide on uploading to a host site, copying the image/s then pasting to Demonland.

I've just created my own gallery, others can upload their photos to this site and copy the link to the photo and paste it here, I'll be uploading my best shots onto here unless Demonland finds a better way to display them. @Demonland Could we potentially use this thread for the photo links or create a new one? https://postimg.cc/CZ96VRzM Tell me if this link works. Thanks, Cam.

Just a word of warning. Many great images have been lost to history having been posted on image hosting sites which later went defunct. Choose carefully and keep a backup.

I just loaded an image to my cancer thread in the General Discussion forum using direct link in the postimgs site as suggested by @Demonland and it worked a charm! Thanks!

PS: is there any way of removing the empty spaces which previously contained uploaded photographs that had since been deleted to free up storage space?

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

    Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

    Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
