For much the same reason I call Sparrow Swallow.

Dangerous getting birds mixed up. Can lead to marriage or even death by poison!!

An outstanding pod guys. Thank you!

I particularly loved the new format; Binny’s optimism (he’s clearly on the same page as me); and the discussion of the skyrocketing improvement in the quality of the AFLW competition and players.

I enjoyed the pod so much that I listened twice!

PS. I’m delighted that @binman survived his exit interview, and has nailed a starting position on the list for ‘26.

Yep, big difference between Swans, Eagles and Hawks.

After listening to the POD and gaining an insight into the panelists views. The answer l’m seeking falls between George’s pessimism 3-5 years to challenge and Binman’s optimism for some improvement next year.

Is the mid-twenty cohort sufficient to support the new additions, as the senior players time is called?

It can't be overstated how much of footy takes place between the ears. Sure, players won't suddenly become faster, stronger or better with their motor skills cos of a few pep talks. But they might have better preseasons and be prepared to go that little bit harder and have more confidence in themselves and their teammates. THIS is where I'm really hoping to see change next year.

Loved the podcast ..not so much the pessimism from George but we can’t all be “Happy Clappers”. However it will be exciting to see what happens on draft night & also preseason. Also liked the format of summarising the questions & answering them as a whole. Hope that continues in the next year of podcasts.

Melbourne’s early surge of optimism came crashing back to reality in its clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.
