Taylor has an unbelievable set of hands and strong IQ and body positioning. I wonder if heโ€™s ever been trialled up forward. Looks like a serious player.

He has played in defence the last few years

I spoke to a top 10 draftee lock today who I have coached, some insights:

Dovaston - Hawthorn or Adelaide likely.

Farrow - Yeah he is alright.

Dursma - Very laid back, lots of talent , similar to his 2 brothers.

Cumming - Richmond have serious interest.

X Taylor - Richmond or Melbourne.

Nairn - Never heard of him, yeah apparently Melb have told him they are going to take him.

Cal Twomey - he is a ripper fella, might be hard to get the top 10 right this year.

Pretty big pump up of Farrow ๐Ÿ˜

ย

Dons getting 9 could scupper our chances of Farrow. Given they would be aware we wonโ€™t pick Sharp, so they pick Farrow before we do. That would suck (if youโ€™re a fan of him๐Ÿ˜‚)

Would you think it would likely move to Nairn + Pickett, assuming Farrow is gone and the order largely falls as expected prior?

Think Nairn is a lock no matter what happens. But yes the Pickett situation opens up more than it ever has if Taylor, Cumming, Farrow is gone.

There was a rumour that Richmond made the journey to Mildura to meet with Cumming

Richmond taking Cumming could really shake up the order ๐Ÿ‘€

Sounds like X Taylor gets through Essendon, and Sharp gets through Melbourne

The only incentive Essendon have to take Sharp with picks 5/6, is if they think we will trade pick 8 to someone who wants him

I remember last year the view was Smillie would get through to the pick that Richmond ended up using on Taj Hotton, but that the risk of someone trading up was too great for them to not select him early

Thatโ€™s definitely my read on it too

Iโ€™m big on Taylor so for me Iโ€™d love Richmond to pass on him so that he falls to us, but not sure if theyโ€™d take a Robey / Cumming double if the rumours are true

Great intel Viney.

What team is the top 10 lock likely to go to?

Is he a good kid?

We aren't using pick 7 on Pickett. This is a Demonland fantasy

8 - Grilj. He hasn't been linked to Melbourne per say but he fits the criteria King is looking for.

Sounds like we simply don't rate him

If Robey gets through Richmond, and Essendon trade for pick 9, I wonder if Essendon would do 7,8 + GC F1, for 5,9 and maybe a swap of our 37 for one of their other picks depending on what picks they use for pick 9.

We get Robey and Nairn.

We supposedly donโ€™t rate him highly (I donโ€™t know why though)

Guess we can't be too sure as JT runs a pretty tight ship

Agreed

As mentioned it mean they let Sharp slip past us to pick 9, and grab one of our targets with 5/6

It's all coming up Latrelle!!!! Unless X Taylor gets thru that is

There is zero talk of this outside of Demonland.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
