Essendon ruckman, David Hille has been rubbed out for a week, he can challenge at the tribunal and even if he fails cannot be outted for any longer than already suspended for.

So he will probably challenge. But useful out.

Probably, but on fox sports the guy said he didnt know what they could challenge on. Hille out would be a massive bonus for us.

god i remember that final where he killed nicho.

nicho was having a decent year until that last match and Hille smashed it in the final 5 minutes of the last quarter.

I've spent a lot of money on therapists, trying to suppress that memory.

Thanks very much for reminding me! :P

Look its good to confront your bad memeories.

It helps to create a much more venomous hate, which is alllllllllll good!

Massive out, being without Hille would make it extremely difficult for the Bombers midfield to remain competitve against us.

Yep, game over if Hille misses.

He probably will challenge if there is no danger of getting more weeks if unsuccessful. Can't see the result changing though. Head high contact, although not too malicious, still worthy of a week. How Michael Wilson gets away with a reprimand is beyond me. I don't care if he "doesn't have a record", it was a blatant forceful elbow to Slatterys head. Does this mean everyone who hasn't been suspended before has one free shot if they plea guilty?

The tribunal system has some serious flaws.

Hille accepted his one-game suspension and will miss the melbourne game...

it's definitely easier not having him out there, but i think the combination of white and PJ could quite easily combat Hille. this guy is solid and decent around the grounds, but people shouldnt overrate his ability. he is no jeff white

on a side note, i honestly dont see why white couldnt be all-australian ruckman by years end. he is our only player who would even be in contention, and considering there are no standout ruckman this season, his consistent form warrants selection.

note: he is the leading possession winner of all ruckman, and his possessions actually count whether up forward, in the hole in defence, or playing the link man in the midfield. his rucking hasn't been too bad either and hasnt been outclassed too often at ruck contests.

The only other considerations for ruckman AA this year are Hamish McIntosh (great youngster but doesnt have the influence of white at this stage) and Everitt (has been inconsistent, and never gets possies). cox and sandilands wouldnt be in contention this year bc of injury/form

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
