Maybe i missed it, but didnt Judd have a gf with the womens team? Howd the news go down with her or is she going to request a trade at season end too?

Judd and Lily are still together. She’s staying with us. They’re gonna do the long distance relationship thing.

An even better call was my posting while Clark was playing in the VFL for the Cats and before leaving was even mentioned, that we should go after him.

The exact same scenario happened for Bolton, Treacy and Meek existed when I also posted often about them.

I don’t write this to show that I am brilliant, which of course I am, but rather to highlight the disappointment I have, that we got none of them.

I don’t need the excuses about each player as I already know them, but the disappointment is still there anyway.

Apparently we never even tried to get any of them.

That is disappointing to me.

Given the players we have traded in in the same period, it is more disappointing.

Anyway here’s hoping we get a few good ones this off season.

I’m still disappointed we didn’t swap Darren Kowal for David Wirrapunda so I feel your suffering.

My final word on Judd McVee.

A Nobel Prize winning poet, five time world chess champion, first Australian to land on the moon, and the only lock down defender to win the Lasker Award for contributions to Medical Science.

Thanks Judd, all the best back home with family and friends.

The home cooking must be better in WA.

Premiership Player

Important member of our Premiership team, a Premiership I thought i would never see in my lifetime. Thanks Judd, all the best back home with family and friends

Daylight robbery that spud Christian Petracca got the Norm Smith over him.

Incredible game McVee played, I'll never forget it.

You heard this from Judd did you?

Did you ask him why he lied about signing a contract, disgusting behaviour.

I think he means that for Judd to choose to move back to WA and put his relationship in jeopardy is a pretty bold choice.

Long distance relationships are not easy, especially when you are young, and one of you plays AFL

Heard it from Lily.

If I run into Judd at a W game or a W event (B&F for example) I certainly won’t ask him about his contract.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
