No Miller, instant win!

Featured Replies

Yep, this thread is exactly what I expected from people around here, unfortunately.......

It was unbelievably sad when Miller was being held single handedly responsible for all those losses (even the ones we probably should have won) when he was one of the few who was working their ass off in a losing side at the beginning of the year, and now this.

So if we had snuck over the line last week what would have been peoples response then? We won in spite of him? Never mind I know that answer.

Bate was very good, but performed the same role, just a little better, right down to some of the hand balling manoeuvre's everyone here [censored] Miller out about.

I thought that Sylvia was also great but the win is nothing more than a coincidence, especially after the last few weeks of very close losses.

Whether he is the answer at CHF is definitely a question for the club, but seriously for once in your lives, just for once leave him alone.

If and when he plays again then judge him then, don't beat him up for not being there.

Unfortunately Miller has become the guy demon supporters love to bag. Last wk demonologists were calling for his head despite teh fact the entire side played three shocking qs of footy. But from the ruble they decided it was mainly Brad's fault...

A few weeks in people were saying the same crap about Bate - never mind the fact he was in his second year and still had a lot to learn. No one's bitching now. People seem to want instant coffee adn get peturbed by anything that might take a bit longer.

As far as Miller is concerned though - some time in Sandy would probably do him some good, get the confidence right (something Melbourne fans probably didn't help the other week as they bronx cheered him every time he got the ball).

Don't reckon anyone can question his endevor though.

All you have to ask is "is Miller the answer to CHF"

Of course he isn't. Whatever happened to his mean streak, his menace. He lacks this now. Plus he doesn't kick anywhere near enough goals to be our CHF. I long for the day the MFC have another Schwartz as our CHF.

Will Bate and Dunn be the answer? Who knows. But either way, they would both need to put on some serious muscle and weight to hold down the position, and be effective week in, week out.

ATM, we don't have a definite CHF. If we are to trade Miller, we would have to recruit an already developed CHF (Pavlich, for example) this is highly unlikely to happen. If we don't recruit one, either or both Bate and Dunn should be locked in the gym over summer.

Add this thread to the "I was wrong" file in a few months!

I cannot believe the week to week mentality of some supporters.

Thank god club decisions aren't made by supporters.

Where is the "Scott Thompson is a dud" thread after he was shut down yesterday?

Guaranteed to be on its way!

Miller unfortunately is and has pretty much always been a complete dud. There is not one chance in a millilon that another club would give anything for him.He would struggle to get a game in the forward line at the Zebs.Dunne is probably the best option long term if he can toughen up.

Must be delisted

Or traded if someone is stupid enough to take him

The only thing Miller has ever brought to this side is good looks...

Clearly judging by my pic! No we took a chance on Wheately and it paid off, we need to persevere with Miller, get off his back he is still young he has plenty of time. Pointing the finger at him is unfair and ridicolous. He always trys hard and people seem to have very short memories when he does play well. Final last year against Fremantle people! Wake up he was our one shining light! Yeah no-one remembers that now do they??

I know, where the hell is miller's mongrel and attack on the footy. Where is the enforcer that we got all excited for in 04 n were shattered when ever he got suspended. Throw your body around n make a presence.

i can guanantee if he goes elsewhere he will play against us and slaughter us.

You're right that he's not, but why does he have to be a CHF or nothing?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
