Probably a very short-lived thread, not being of great interest, and probably eliciting 'they're-only-in-it-for-themselves' reactions, but this was a nice story, about a sponsor that has attracted my loyalty (and also sponsors a nice weekly Club website piece - although it's a tad awkward when we lose and/or don't kick many goals!) It also made me reflect on the validation we get when entities want to align with us. So, anyway, thanks sponsors!

(p.s. Curious that Kate got the gig, rather than Daisy?)

Nothing wrong with giving a shout out to a good local brand that supports Australian made and keeping jobs here.

10 years of support in this day and age of AFL sponsorship is something to be proud of 😀

Thank you, Haymes!

The mural looks stunning, would love to see it irl to fully appreciate it.

As to your question about Kate getting the gig, I’d say it’s because she’s our current captain. Got a feeling she’ll be our captain for quite some time yet. ❤️💙

I thought all that, too, W, but Kate's and Max's presences then represent the present and near-to-(as I equally expect)-mid future, whereas the '10 things in 10 years' theme was about those 10 years, where Daisy and Max were generational presences and representative of one of those 10 things - three reigning premier teams in 2020.

But all this is very much a sidebar to the sponsorship/s and the mural as an outcome of one of them. Nice to see it in the background of the AMW vids, too!

Thanks Timothy R-B Haymes is a great Sponsorship story and great products, I did a lot of painting with two of my daughters over summer and used Haymes exclusively (20% member discount), friendly helpful staff at their Epping Store. I think that if Daisy was still associated with MFC she would have got the gig whereas Kate is in our colours and Captain.😁

Yes, that is rather relevant atm, eh!

There's room on the wall for when the blue and gold is swapped back for the red and blue, in time for '20 things from 20 years'. 😄

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. The tough on baller won his second Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy in a narrow battle with skipper Max Gawn and Alex Neal-Bullen and battled on manfully in the face of a number of injury niggles. TRAINING: Wednesday 13th November 2024

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

The premiership defender had his best year yet as he was given the opportunity to move into the midfield and made a good fist of it. TRAINING: Monday 11th November 2024

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. Looks like the leadership group is TMac, Viney Chandler and Petty. They look like they have sli

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. Once again the club’s top goal scorer but he had a few uncharacteristic flat spots during the season and the club will be looking for much better from him in 2025.
