Can understand that, he gained possession and found spaces - and impressed with score involvements and a series of improving feeds in rather quick-time.  If the Fritta cannot play, I'd also consider JSmith to be worked at leading and duplicating Fritta's game style; he has the speed, height, the hands, the kicking accuracy and the mobility/agility - and finds forward space within range in order to be a surprise target for the midfielders/half forwards. Chandler and Kozzie could provide more of their best games and linking with Laurie about that deep forward prong zone in both receipt of the ball and despatch.

They do seem to have an air of confidence about them that their best is good enough. 

Even during the third quarter it never really felt the Swans would put too big a gap on us - like most games they had momentum and were getting their hands on the ball. Once we arrested the momentum its was largely one way traffic.

Blown away by how skilled Fritta is - it was a joy to watch him live sinking daggers into the Swans from half chances that most other players would have butchered - he really is one of the most under rated players in the competition IMO.

The only slight let down in the game was that the whole playing group didn't get over to the Dees fans in bay 2 after the game - not sure why because they would have received a stirring reception.

Not wanting to sound ungrateful but attending a game in Sydney is so different from Melbourne. It’s as if only half the people are there to actually watch the game. The other half (groups of men, groups of woman, parents with kids, kids by themselves) are constantly in and out of their seats during the game, standing in the walkways, back and fourth for drinks, photo opportunities with other families. At one point a man who was constantly going to the bar stopped in front of wife mid game to talk to someone in the row in front of us, we were the first two seats of that row so he could have just passed us to have the chat whilst standing in the aisle but decided to stand in front of us and lean over. One group didn’t even come to their seats until early in the 3rd. Grateful to the club for the free tickets but next time I’d rather pay and sit up higher, ground level, fwd pocket at that ground is not great for viewing. Really need to watch the replay on Kayo. 

It’s interesting you say this, BA. I noticed a massive difference in terms of crowd engagement between playing Sydney at the ‘G and playing them at the SCG.

At the ‘G their fans are just like us: they’re there to see their team win. They’re serious about it. But at the SCG it’s like one big social event. It’s like the game of footy is secondary.

After the match they had kick-to- kick. I was standing next to an aisle wrapping up flags etc. while fans were streaming down to go onto the field. There was not a skerrick of animosity, in fact many of them smiled and said “great game!” and the like. I told my DA bestie and she said this is always how it is when we play an interstate team at their home, (except for in Adelaide or WA). And it’s true because it’s something I noticed with Brisbane matches at the ‘G as opposed to at the Gabba.

I can’t say this applies to games vs the Suns or the Giants since it’s hard to draw comparisons when they don’t have any fans in Victoria. 🤣

The old Bloods fans contingent in Melb would have that presence no doubt. 

Slightly more theatre feel in Sydney.
