I've come across some info suggesting there will be an open training session at Bellerive Oval 330pm.

I haven't been able to confirm through any of the normal sources. Anyone know anything about it?

There definitely is a Captain’s Run at Bellerive today. It’s an open session and it begins at either 3pm or 3:30pm. The North cheer squad told us this but aren’t sure about the starting time, so getting there at 3pm is probs wisest.

Didn't make it to training, but did bump into a few Dees supporters at a wine tasting on the Derwent.  Our supporters also seemed in force at Salamanca markets this morning!  I can report on general good spirits!

Now that's just asking for a hangover.

Fear not, we were only popping in to buy a pinot noir after enjoying a bottle over lunch at the winery restaurant.  Extreme cheering still on the schedule for tomorrow amongst the rest of the Demon Army!

So we did adventure around to Bellerive at 330 and watched the boys run around for about an hour. When we arrived the Nort side were just finishing up. They would have had 20 supporters vs our 400.

It was a bit of the standard drills with emphasis on the turnover, contest and transition parts of the game. Goody was very vocal and driving a lot of the drills. At one stage he was shouting at the backs regarding their positioning and I really noticed how May is really pressing high and Lever is patrolling across the last line. I think this use to be Petty's role but Lever is the obvious choice now as he reads the play so well. In a one hour session I was pleasantly surprised about the emphasis placed on goal kicking. For those who have suggested Bowey should be used more forward I can say he is  certainly practicing that part of his game. I can see it being something we will develop and it might be a plan C at some stage that will surprise many.

The best thing I can say about this one hour is; they looked sharp, focused and relaxed, all at the same time. That might not seem to make sense but they looked super confident and the laughter and fun they showed at the end said more to me than anything.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
