I had to laugh at how the Punt Road End forum deals with posters swearing.

Instead of (censored) or ******* the filter replaces the rude word with *smile*.

I reckon I'd be no less frustrated if I had just read "the umpire was a *smiling* [censored]"

How would Essendon supporters know what a real flag is? They haven't touched one for 23 years.

I reckon a condition of entry to an AFL match should be to undertake a quiz re holding the ball rule. The Richmond supporters would literally call "Ball!" every time one of our players were tackled.

The umpires wouldn't make it in the ground.

I've got a couple of colleagues that go for Essendon and Collingwood, they keep repeating how our 21 flag was a fluke and doesn't count because it was a "COVID" flag. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I bet they, specially Essendon, would kill to have won the 21 premiership. 🤭🤭

Just jealous. Move on without a comment JUST A BIG SMILE.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
