Of course it's hollywood.

He's 27, in the prime of his career. You think he's lost speed?! What on earth.

Since he began playing AFL footy, he has always looked to fend off before giving first option which has been a bugbear of mine and many Melbourne supporters as more often than not, he gets caught. He also loves to try and pick a ball off the ground one handed instead of two far too often. Another trait that sees him lose contests regularly.

He's a player who should just do the basics well and understand the importance of that, but doesn't. Which is why he's not in the best 22 when everyone is fit and firing.

Thanks STMJ.

Spot on.

the dees seem to be only putting in for half the game, last week they played well for half of each of the four quarters, did not put together one 4 quarter effort. similarly in other games we put in a few good moments but then seem to let the opposition back in. it would be good to see 4 quarters out of them.  All games are important to win at this stage of the year, none should be taken for granted.

I think you’ll find Adelaide are more than a handy side.

There's been talk about resting players in the next few weeks. On the other hand, all this weekend's upsets have opened an unexpected pathway to second place on the ladder if we win all our remaining games. That's a big incentive considering that finishing third would probably mean travel to Brisbane or Adelaide. The Tigers won't be an easy kill, given that the upsets have also kept alive their finals hopes.

One week at a time.

For the time being, c'mon boys let's get that third place!!

We don’t need to rest players. We can, especially when Clarry is back, rotate the mids more to give them lower TOG minutes. Especially Viney, who is probably the one most desperate for a rest. Trac will get more time forward which will be less taxing for him.

I reckon they will be one of the serious contenders come next season

The workload Viney has carried all season, but especially in Oliver's absence, has been phenomenal. He's a non-stop running and tackling machine. Maybe he deserves a rest against North, but being the character he is he probably wouldn't want to miss a single game.
