The Academy Awards

Featured Replies

Three rounds into the season and Sydney have won all three rising star nominations.

It should be renamed from the Rising Star Award to The Academy Awards.   I look forward to the day the Melbourne Football Club is given free talent without having to give up anything.

they invested in these kids since they were under 12s and gave up points at the draft table in order to claim them - braeden campbell cost the points equivalent of pick 5 and and errol gulden cost them pick 32...before discounts

what they should not have been able to do is have any 'discount' applied to them

same goes for the dogs claiming jamarra ugle-hagan with pick 1 in 2020 and (probably) the filth with nick daicos with pick 1 later this year

Its a bit rich Scott complaining about 'the cost' of Syd Academy players:  Geelong got umpteen father/sons for very late junk picks:  Ablett, Hawkins, Scarlett etc etc.  without whom they would not have won any of their most recent flags.

Pies have 4 father/sons players and will get one next year; touted to be #1 in the draft and they have two top NGA players.

Bulldgos got JUH and never invested a minute in his development - a quirk of geography gave him to them.  At least Sydney invest time and money into their guys.

And if other clubs thought highly of Gulden they should have bid for him earlier to force Sydney to pay a higher price.

Lots of sour grapes among Vic clubs.

I clicked on this thread and expected to see a video of Dangerfield and Selwood staging for frees.
