But another question - Roos wanted Dew, I 100% agree, but what if Dew wanted to rebuild and start from scratch like hes done with the Suns, would MFC swallow a rebuild?

I sense Dew didn't want the coaches-graveyard job,  as his first go at it.

this

i was super keen on dew - had played in premierships under choco and then clarko, and had served a fine apprenticeship under roos' successor, longmire, including being in the box for the 2012 premiership

but everyone knew melbourne's list was stuffed and why would you go there when yr role as an assistant saw you play finals on a regular basis? assistants at successful clubs often get the push to take on a main gig - it's why rutten and caracella were chased so hard by the peptides, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see adam kingsley the next cab off the hardwick's assistant line

So he went to the Suns?

While I agree this job is probably a graveyard going to the Suns isn't much better

If you would focus instead of allowing your emotions to lead you up the wrong pathway.   You may have noticed the highlighted above.

The comments posted are about our past 50 years of Mfc boards,  'OhUSA'.

Do not lecture me you fool. I read what was written and my comments are relevant.

I think the Suns job was a much better bet when Dewy went there,  than our job back in 2014.

Also I reckon Dewy has AFL backing.

relevant, You fool.  rubbish.

My post is/was about Melbourne boards from the mid 1960's,  to  2013-ish.

Nothing to do with our current AFL endorsed board.

I've heard he's not interested in a senior coach but if Goodwin was moved on and we were going to go for an untried assistant i'd be going for Blake Caracella.

We live in enlightened times  so I think it is fair to point some thing that may make Goodys job a little more difficult than the next bloke. Some may take this is a criticism but is not, rather an observation of somene who is a vital part of theClub. It has been noted sometimes Goodwin gives an unusual smirk at inappropriate times when being questioned. Additionall he really struggles in press conferences to contain his movements and again in yesterdays conference he stratched his lift leg repeatedly, seven times. At other times you could see him conciously grab his arm and fold them together to control his repertitive habit. It must be a strain for him to listen, answer questions and control his movements. Hats off to him for having the guts to front up with an obvious compulsive disorder, but it must put a lot of strain on him and his performance as players are very concious of coachs sayings and actions.

caracella has stated previously that he doesn't want the senior role - happy to be the primary assistant

he'll be at the peptides for some time setting up their mids beautifully, the rotten so-and-so, much as he has the tigers, and the cats, and the filth before that

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
