I'm still watching that replay time after time.  but I only have parts of the 2nd half recorded. ?

I thought our play in the second quarter was simply superb. and didn't kick a goal !! possible our best 'general play' quarter for the year.

I watched it all yesterday afternoon. Geelong missed some sitters and the free kick against Selwood when Hawkins was shooting for goal muffled their chances. Had we kicked straight it would have been game over. I'm not sorry Tyson is gone, he was tres ordinaires. Weidemann was not very useful as a second ruckman and he'll need to get involved a bit more as he has a tendency to sit outside the action, a criticism a friend who has watched Weidemann since he was a junior made as well. What I liked was the grunt, the skill, especially Tom McDonald's marking in the first half, and the relentless attack on the ball.

Weids had 24 touches in that game. Not bad for a key forward!

He could have had more. I'm not complaining, just noting when he gets his confidence mojo and senses that he REALLY belongs, he will take teams apart.

Geez we’re quick to bag out Hogan just because he’s not one of ours anymore.

If he didn’t play Brisbane in rd 2, we lose that game pure and simple. They were going to run over the top of us, but Hogan (and Garlett) bailed us out of that potential disaster.

In that parallel universe, we would’ve finished 8th, played Sydney at the SCG in an elimination final  and who knows if we would’ve gotten past them at a tougher venue.

Hogan will be a fine player for Freo and has far more runs on the board than Weideman after their respective first 3 seasons of AFL.

Far more runs? After 3 years from drafting both 20 games, yes Hogan's figures are better in many areas but not all.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
