Adds up to 25-1 or thereabouts but more like 30-1+ with the aid of the odds booster.  That's good odds for a 3pick

Anyway,  it's all about Serie A tonight & tomorrow!

Best of luck to all!

Thanks Macca. I was in Torino not so long ago as you know, a wise choice ! 0-3 no less. Cristiano even scoring!

I see Juventus is top of the table with Napoli coming second....my 2 teams!

Juve are one of my go-to bankers in soccer ... much like the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.  Man City was money for jam last night - I was very confident so in effect I had 2 bankers and Deeza's AC Milan choice was another obvious standout.  11-1 boosted for 3 no-brainers - it's nice when it all goes to plan Wadda!

Since I've switched to the 3pick as the default multi (about 2 weeks) I've had 3 collects and nearly always get 2 from 3.

It's almost like a professional punters way of betting (with regards to multi's) ... a little boring but a collect is a collect.  Group racing with the horses is similar.  Better to be on a proven performer rather than too many spec picks.

Yes i agree. When all goes to plan...its money for jam! :)         ....(and damn good punting there)

Problem is ...Devil fools with the best laid plans...(Neil Young)

The first time i put a 3 horse multi on it paid 1100 for 20. Ive never managed to do it since! Im still in front tho. I seem to always mess up on the dreaded draw in soccer....2 from 2 so far. Gave myself a spell (let up) this week. Im due now.

1100 is a very good collect mate ... let's hope history repeats for you.

I like multi's with regards the horses in the overseas racing.  More so the UK & sometimes the US rather than Ireland or France.  With the exotics basically out of the question due to the small pools so you have to find winners.  Again,  Group racing only and more so over a mile or further.  I got a 3pick with Stradivarius,  Roaring Lion & Cracksman last year - all shorties but it adds up.  Might have got 12-1 from memory.

I did get the trifecta in the Merchant Navy win though ... that was a satisfying collect as I was banking on the Aussie punters following suit with the UK betting where they ignored the 2nd & 3rd place getters because they were from France & the USA.  An international trifecta and the 'loophole' win!

Sports bets is my preference for multi's though Wadda - all you have to do is find 3 winners out of 3 head-to-heads and you've won.  Sounds simple but there is some science and an art to the whole thing. The big multi is worth having a go at though - 'tis a pity they don't pay 7 from 8 as I'd be a billionaire by now!

Yep i hear ya Macca. 7 from 8! No wonder they call you Tom Macca! :)

Yeah i know that feeling.

Actually they do pay 7 from 8, but you have to put the bet on that way before you begin. Somehow it never pays much, im not sure how the math works on that one.

I had a mate up here who is mad punting on the basketball. He used to put (still does) bets on American NBL games, as a lot of games are predicable, but dont pay a lot . But he would do like a 20 leg multi or whatever the maximum number is. I told him he was mad and hed never get that many legs and should trim it down a little. Well....he got it 3 times. Won over 15k on at least 1 of them. Nice going.

It's just you Wadda ... not sure who the 'they' are.

Wadda we call you Wadda?  'No show' Wadda?  ha ha

You've got to be in it to win it mate ... I've picked up 2 collects from our last 3 goes - 2 from 3!  This keeps up and I'll be retiring early ?

If I get a chance Wadda I will try and post up a few links to the upcoming big soccer games to be played on the weekend.

As it is the Champions league kicks off again tomorrow morning so we could do a midweek special if people have got the time.

2 Games Wed morning and 2 games Thursday morning.  Just a thought.

Sure Macca. Any punting info welcome, thats what threads are for....haha. More interesting than the training thread atm anyways...

I would like some soccer info. I may just stick to the weekends, but put it up anyway as it can still be good info.

Fair enough ... let's leave it to the weekend then Wadda.

With soccer,  the 2nd tier in England (The Championship) often throws up lots of goals and the top 8 teams often win at home as well.  If I do a multi on a Saturday night I sometimes prefer the Championship as the value is often much better.

Thanks Macca, nice work

Took about half an hour Wadda but the links will last for as long as there is no change to the linked site's configuration's.  So it's a simple copy & paste for the one-stop-shop.  I have added the NBA & NHL schedules via 2 more links (to the above post)

Forever having to search for the games involving the big teams via various websites will be made a lot easier and the links will save a lot of time for those who are interested.

The links to the scheduling of the Footy,  Rugby League,  Union,  MLB and other sports will be added when applicable.

Yep great work.

Im not sure if youve seen it, but if you type for example Italia Serie A into google search engine you get this table with a green header at the top of the search page results which gives you the previous match results and upcoming games as well as ladder positions and news for any given league.

Google works as well but I thought having all the links attached to the ESPN pages puts everything into line ... no typing involved either.  Just click on the link and you're there for the next lot of games.

After a while,  you get to know who all the good performing teams are as well as the poorly performed teams (without having to consult the standings) ... I once picked up a sizeable multi involving the Brazilian & Argentian leagues so I included them as well.

And in the NBA there are any number of teams that are tanking for more marbles in the draft.  All info is important Wadda - I don't like leaving anything out!

The links don't copy & paste so I'll have to quote the list instead.  The early MLB games listed are warm-up/practice games and the AFL link for the scheduled games might be configured differently down the track.

Ok, so now...when i quote this post it doesnt translate the links, which is fine we will just have to remember its all on page 14 !

  • GAMEDAY: Brisbane

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are back on the road with a massive challenge ahead — facing the reigning premiers, the Brisbane Lions, at their Gabba fortress. The Lions are licking their wounds after a shock draw in Tasmania last week, while Melbourne’s season hangs in the balance. Can the Dees defy the odds and pull off a miracle to keep their razor thin finals hopes alive?

  • NON-MFC: Round 10

The Sir Doug Nicholls Round kicks off in Darwin with a Top 4 clash between the Suns and the Hawks. On Friday night the Swans will be seeking to rebound from a challenging start to the season, while the Blues have the Top 8 in their sights after their sluggish start. Saturdays matches kick off with a blockbuster between the Collingwood and Kuwarna with the Magpies looking to maintain their strong form and the Crows aiming to make a statement on the road. The Power face a difficult task to revive their season against a resilient Cats side looking to make amends for their narrow loss last week. The Giants aim to reinforce their top-eight status, while the Dockers will be looking to break the travel hoodoo. The sole Saturday game is a critical matchup for both teams, as the Bulldogs strive to cemet their spot in the top six and the Bombers desperately want break into the 8. Sundays start with a bottom 3 clash between the Tigers and Kangaroos with both teams wanting to avoid the being in wooden spoon contention. The Round concludes with the Eagles still searching for their first win of the season, while the Saints look to keep their finals hopes alive with a crucial away victory. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

And just like that, we’re Narrm again. Even though the annual AFL Sir Doug Nicholls Round which commemorates the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture to our game has been a welcome addition to our calendar for ten years, more lately it has been a portent of tough times ahead for we beleaguered Narrm supporters. Ever since the club broke through for its historic 2021 premiership, this has become a troubling time of the year for the club. For example, it all began when Melbourne rebranded itself as Narrm across the two rounds of the Sir Doug Nicholls Round to become the first club to adopt an Indigenous club name especially for the occasion. It won its first outing under the brand against lowly North Melbourne to go to 10 wins and no losses but not without a struggle or a major injury to  star winger Ed Langdon who broke his ribs and missed several weeks. In the following week, still as Narrm, the team’s 17 game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Dockers. That came along with more injuries, a plague that remained with them for the remainder of the season until, beset by injuries, the Dees were eliminated from the finals in straight sets. It was even worse last year, when Narrm inexplicably lowered its colours in Perth to the Waalit Marawar Eagles. Oh, the shame of it all! At least this year, if there is a corner to turn around, it has to be in the direction of something better. To that end, I produced a special pre-game chant in the local Narrm language - “nam mi:wi winnamun katjil prolin ambi ngamar thamelin amb” which roughly translated is “every heart beats true for the red and the blue.” >y belief is that if all of the Narrm faithful recite it long enough, then it might prove to be the only way to beat the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday. The Lions are coming off a disappointing draw at Marvel Stadium against a North Melbourne team that lacks the ability and know how to win games (except when playing Melbourne). Brisbane are, however, a different kettle of fish at home and have very few positional weaknesses. They are a midfield powerhouse, strong in defence and have plenty of forward options, particularly their small and medium sized players, to kick a winning score this week after the sting of last week’s below par performance.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.
