I haven't done anything about draft order yet. Is everyone happy for me to take the list, randomise it three times and go from there?

Yes Pete....

Do whatever you need too... Draft order is not that important! I won the flag last season & had my first pick at 14.. Sometimes early picks are a curse..

  2. 7
  3. 1
  4. 9
  5. 2
  6. 4
  7. 5
  8. 11
  9. 8

You have randomized this list 3 times.

Team Coach Current Order New Order
Baconators Brad 1 10
The Goodvibes Ross 2 7
7 UP Cheth 3 1
Krazy Jaeger Jason 4 9
Goody's Goats Shaun 5 2
Robbo24 Ben 6 4
Scarlett Matt 7 5
Jaybee's Jeepers John 8 11
OMR Gary 9 8
Galahs Graeme 10 3
PC Demons Peter 11 12
Melissa's Team Melissa 12 6

Hopefully the draft moves along fairly quickly. Being at the end of the queue, I don't really like the idea of having a pick every 20 minutes.

From #4 to #9

At least the pressure will be off to be the first to select a ruckman!

Krazy let them take The Rucks.. We will just clean up with midfielders?

The draft snakes in reverse order so after round one the order doesn't really matter.

Nice job poita. Good luck everyone.

But OMR, the rucks are so important and I will be surprised if there are not at least 5 taken before my pick at # 9

People underestimate the importance of Rucks in UF... :) He who picks the best Ruck generally wins the comp ^_^

Exactly.... Rucks are the most important selections ?

No point in selecting any power forwards ?

Power forwards are well overrated in UF, especially with how our scoring is set up... People should be looking more towards the defensive forwards who also play higher up the ground...

I shouldn't be giving away all the UF secrets to success but I want to see an even comp for all of us... Also the hard taggers (that don't tackle much but niggle) are worth their weight in gold as they can prevent your opponents high possession mids from having an impact... Load up people!

This inside info is crucial to your success ?

Looking forward to my strategy from last years draft - plenty of beer and no research!

5 Hours out from Draft time...

Hope we are all ready to rock n roll? This is the night to set up your season.

Good Luck & look forward to lots of banter in the chat bubble throughout the live draft?

Looking forward to seeing Jarrod Witts going in the Top 10

JCB makes some left field selection, he is every chance of nailing Jarrod Witts early. Fairly certain he will take Brent Stanton with his first round pick ?

Oooh... I forgot about Stanton! Might have to rethink my first pick! Between him and Wellingham I'm torn more than a box of tissues in a 2 year olds hands!

The pressure is mounting!

The banter will continue and only gain momentum... I can assure you of that... I may not have picked the strongest side (although happy with my team) but I am extremely confident in the fact that I will not shut up for the whole season

Let the games begin...

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
