So it’s in the Caulfield cup?

Yeah Gorg, No19. Was first emergency, now gives Waller 4 runners and all pretty much cricket score odds.

Extreme flight by half a head, good run, had to come wider than it wanted but held on over a fast finishing Prince Alexander.

They were the last two for majority of the race and ended up spacing the rest. Well done Macca.

Good on Nature Strip but is Masked Crusader the new Chautauqua? Holy smokes did that thing fly home.

Did it ever!  Just catching up on the replays now but it was a good thing beaten after missing the start by a length or 2 (again) ... always has to make up that lost ground against a field like that

Incentivise just keeps punishing opponents. Nonconformist was bold, dumbarse hereshoukd have done a quinella but didn’t. 🤦‍♂️

Incentivise is a freak ... 3 wide without cover the whole way and did it on the bit

An incredible run ... hope they run it in the Cox Plate and go for the treble.  I'm not sure they will though as it's had a lengthy campaign since March

As it stands, the future for the horse looks amazing as it's still only a 5yo (gelding)

I reckon they might be tempted by the treble. I mean why not, it’s hammering along.

I've made the switch to Sportsbet Gorg ... money back 2nd to 5th is an offer too good to refuse!!  Still a little bit with Laddies on occasions

Got a few winners but bonus bets were arriving left, right & centre!  I hardly missed!!

Yeah, I like Sportsbet. I too had a few that I now have on NFL games etc, one bonus became a F4 win in the 6th which was nice.

Elite street in the 7th salutes. Glad I remembered that black booker.

That's a good get!

I recall we got on at very good odds in the Winterbottom late last year

I'm using some bonus bets on a few multi's at Royal Ascot tonight (4 x G1's & a G2) ... on Sky1 for those that are keen

That was amazing by Incentivise Macca. It will be interesting to see if they run it in the Cox, you would think the Valley would suit especially if it gets an easy lead and dictates. I did hear just prior to the race yesterday on the TV from the connections that they’ve trained it specifically for a back-up into the Cox if need be. Earlier markets had it as much as $16 from memory and now into $6 for next week.

There were some good runs in the Cup by a few horses but always enjoy seeing top class salute in a big race. Kind of reminded me about our boys heading into finals, a few questions were asked then bang, bang, bang.

Incentivise now highly unlikely to run in the Cox Plate ... Peter Moody mentioned that the horse was a bit weary this morning

2 and a half weeks to the Melbourne is a good enough rest though.  Might get a 1.5kg - 2kg penalty ... that would take him to 57kg - 57.5kg (Twilight Payment 58kg & Verry Elleegant 57kg)

Geelong cup running tomorrow. You guys looking at it at all?

Was just looking at it Gorg. Noticed a bit of money has come for last years Derby winner in Johnny Get Angry. $51 to $41…not racing well but this isn’t as hard as his last few. Sneaky chance for a place.
I fancy the 14 Hasta La War at each way odds.

Also, mate’s horse is going around at Naracoorte tomorrow in R6 El Magnificence. Horse has a bit of history here, doesn’t win out of turn but has managed two in a row and his latest win over 1200 was his first win over that distance in 17 attempts. Much travelled horse and onto his 5th trainer. Early career looked promising, even got within 7 lengths of Nature Strip in one Flem race a few years back. Looking back 7 lengths is not too bad lol.

Johnny gets angry could easily step up. Hasta looks good, I keep looking at Knights order and it’s another that should b3 better but hasn’t been. Defib should also be around the mark.

Will keep an eye out for your mates horse.

Hasta La War for me in the Geelong Cup  ... overs at $8 although deductions might apply if Tralee Rose doesn't run

So El Mag and Hasta is paying 23-1 in a double.  That might do me!

That sounds good for the double.

And an intriguing field contesting the Cox Macca.

It sure is ... I'll post up the JHR fields and odds later on or tomorrow.  Manikato Stakes and the 2 big races at Randwick are good betting races too (The Invitation & Bondi Stakes)

But I reckon one of Zaaki, Anamoe or Verry Elleegant wins the Cox Plate.  Anamoe has to get another 400m and Verry Elleegant & Zaaki are coming off forgive runs

Edit: Brett Prebble gives Probabeel a big chance ... very confident about its chance

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
