Best Bet

Saturday Warwick Farm

Race 3 Number 3 Pandemic $2.40

They may not be racing up North tomorrow DZ

Already a Heavy9 and the rain does not look like stopping in the foreseeable future.  Mick Sharkie reckons the meeting will be abandoned

They are racing at Canterbury tonight so Warwick Farm might still go ahead.

I'd already placed 'Pandemic' in a couple of multi's before you posted up your best bet!

I’ll just leave it as is and see what happens tomorrow. Good luck if you’re having a go tonight Macca.

Just tomorrow & Sha Tin on Sunday DZ

Although,  they are racing on Sunday at Flemington.  7 races - all down the straight.

I like the sprint races especially because the times can be used more so as a formline.  But Sha Tin is better in terms of comparing times - truly run races (generally)

And 'Pandemic' is well worth following ... a real speedy type.  The name is quite apt too!  Omen bet?

We might indeed be facing a worldwide Pandemic if the Corona virus keeps spreading. Strange days indeed.

Good luck tomorrow team.

We might just have seen the Diamond winner today. That was some win by Hanseatic.

Yep - looks a real goodin' DZ does Hanseatic ... been an ok day so far (for myself) too with How Womantic & Microphone saluting.

A slight departure away from exactas the last month with an emphasis on small multi's (2pics)

I have a little on for the win only as the saver.

Yes it was a top day, with 5 out of the last 6 races won by the fav. Microphone was a great win with the weight pull. Colin Sylvias Mother ditto in the last. Had Newsgirl for a plc. A few previous ADATR selections going around today.

Managed to land a couple of late winners (and a double) at Sha Tin (where they raced on a Saturday for once)  Moreira came through with the goods again!  I owe that bloke a beer.

Had a look at the fields for the 'Rapid-Racing' at Flemington tomorrow Wadda and there's some value runners about.

More so in the quaddie legs ... smallish fields but even a skinny quaddie might pay well.

Nice work Macca.

While we are talking value El Mag is going around at Flem tomorrow. Hadn’t looked at the fields until mate text me earlier saying the horse is running. $41 last time I looked, if there’s a win around the corner tomorrow would be nice.

What was the significance with Sunday racing at Flemington? Thats a new one isnt it? Its normally only the Turnbull Stakes day.

Twilight racing but this time all the races are down the straight.  At first glance the idea seems sound enough.

With so many horses in work in Australia they may as well be a bit creative with how the many meetings are structured.  Midweek-type fields today though.

We would lead the world with the amount of racecourses in operation Wadda ... it seems every country town has a footy oval/league pitch and a racetrack.

Ah i see, thought it was a new idea. I see its also city v country. Maybe we could do that and i will take on you and DZ ! :)

Interesting to note that they ran 2 lengths quicker in the 'Fillies' Blue Diamond Prelude yesterday ... which means that 'Letzbeglam' is well worth following up on (as well as 'Hanseatic' which won the C & G's Prelude)

Here's the replay of the fillies race as well as a replay of the CF Orr Stakes ... hopefully we get to see a lot more of the Orr Stakes winner, 'Alabama Express',  but it is a colt sired by the late Redoute's Choice.  A stud career awaits especially with a G1 success.  Impressive yesterday.

Like Star Missile plc. Had it bringing my multi home.

Tracks a weird situation being a good 4 but with a ton of water on the top. A lot just arent handling it.

Alligator Blood and Catalyst had shades of Bonecrusher and Our Waverly Star ! Great finish.

Yes it was a great finish Wadda ... the big surprise was 'Gytrash' in the Lightning Stakes ... as was the run of 'Nature Strip'.  Another reminder to never take odds that skinny - too much outlay to win a decent amount and thus, high risk)  Alizee,  Flit & Vegadaze all won in fine fashion at Randwick as well.

I had Nature Strip in a couple of multi's although but I backed the other legs to win outright or in exacta's as well (Fabric,  God of Thunder,  Seemingly Discreet & Dark Alley)

And thanks to JJ I ended up in front for the day (he tipped value runners Rivski & Rigalo Di Gaetano)

But Gytrash is the story looking ahead ... it's a much imoroved SA galloper although it's Morphettville form previously was very good (running excellent times & winning)  It's almost certainly a Group horse now and I'll be following it,  that's for sure.

JJ tipped 4 winners all up yesterday at Morphettville whilst no one seemed to fair well at Flemington.  Even Gator went against his namesake (Alligator Blood) Again, a barnstorming finish between the 2 star 3yo's.  Catalyst didn't lose any friends either,  just beaten by a slightly better horse on the day.

The current crop of 3yo's is quite something too ... Alabama Express,  Castelvecchio,  Bivouac,  Exceedence,  Libertini,  Super Seth,  Darlasan,  Flit,  Anaheed,  Microphone,  Lyre,  Loving Gaby,  Shadow Hero,  Warning,  Miami Bound,  Funstar,  Standout,  King of Hastings,  Tassort as well as Alligator Blood & Catalyst.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
