Yeah I was on Grand Promenade so that helps.

Had young werther in my f4, but not Chapada. Had Sir Dragoneet instead.

Yeah tough day fellas. Down for the day, was on Hinged in the Flight Stakes. Almost a decent collect…we’ll go again next week.

Just Folk nearly got me a good day.
It’s lifting each run, proving to have something.

The place-multi is starting to take shape ... let's see what DZ can come up with

Gotta be worth a coffee on all 3 winning though ... that's a payday!  Already sitting at 125-1 (place 8-1)

Best Bet

Randwick Race 8 No.2 Profondo (W) $3.30

All 3 winning in a treble is showing about 440-1 ... any of the 3 doubles saluting will give a good return as well

Pandemic & Lightsaber the place with Profondo winning is paying 35-1 ... decent odds considering only 1 runner (Profondo) has to win

Good luck punters!

Dosh just pipped by a nostril. Great run by it finishing in front of September run and Bella Nipotella.

Zaaki loses! And wasn’t even in it.

I took Probabeel at $8 in the off chance Zaaki didn’t run a big race, hell I’m glad I did.

Sorry boys, finished 4th with lightsaber.

All good Gorg…nearly hung on. Today has been a yo-yo day.

Well done DZ

Very nearly got the ADATR 35-1 place/win multi up ... 2nd, 4th & the win.  Despite that, broke even for the day

Profondo salutes. Nice get.

If you blokes have got a Wednesday special, post it up.  Bit of value if you like, not fussed

The 1000 Guineas meeting is a good one ... 5 Stakes races

I’ll prob have a look. Did alright in the end. Lightsaber hurts when every other leg gets up not only on ours, but another.

I got a 4 leg place multi up and 2 x 2 leg win all-ups.  Had Defribulator as an add-on to the 4 leg place multi and it came ... 4th (had the rails run too) Ugh

Could have been a real good day but happy to break even (or perhaps a bit ahead)

Anamoe, I'm Thunderstruck, Paulele, Profondo & Delphi all won as expected so the multi's were there.  A number of others got into the placings

I did well with Probabeel and Leo in the last (got the f4innthat too not that it paid heaps but was from a  Bonus bet)

Dosh and La Mexicana getting pipped was tough, and tooradin was another where I had Leo and thunderstruck in a multi salute and it ran backwards in the last 400Mars 😂

Did anyone see what happened in the silver eagle, all I saw was horses scatter everywhere and suddenly Vangelic was no where to be seen when it was in a decent position.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
