Quinella paid ok Wadda. Cross Counter was last at one stage.

It was a good day here with family, food and drinks. Had a win on Cross Counter and the day could have been better if we didn’t miss the last leg of the quaddie. We ran second and third in the final leg. The approximates were around 10k for those picks and we had a decent percentage of it, but like you said, we can’t complain.

Yes, Godolphin’s first.

You can complain to me, ill listen.

I did it in a straight 6 once. :(

'Another Coldie' wins the cup!

DK Weir again ... keep these Country Cups coming I say!

One of his runners (Pleasuring) was scratched from the Kyneton Cup today but I see it is entered for Race 2 at Flemington on Saturday

My Quaddie for Ladies Day.

Field/Field/ 1/ 16

208 combos.

Will miss the racing today, hoping Amphitrite can run the distance.

Amphitrite didn't stay but Weir wasn't over-confident either ... got onto Bleu Roche in the lucky last though to end up in front.  Your quaddie with Aristia saluting instead of Amphitrite paid $45k so you were on the right path DZ.  Ugh!

I went away from Aristia as well despite it winning the Wakeful in impressive fashion ... you live and learn.  Ellerton has got a decent horse on his hands.

The field legs certainly provided some value Macca. It’s a method I’ve used before and managed to get a few collects on quaddies. Nothing huge though.

Aristia never crossed my mind even though it was the second pick. Live and learn indeed, it’s worth it even for the smaller percentage.

Bleu Roche was tough in the win, managed to watch the race on one of my breaks.

El Magnificence running at Flemington Saturday, up against one of our previous bests in ‘Eurack’. You never know, currently $19.

Nice odds for El Mag there DZ ... $31 (boosted)

The 5.80 the place is good value too.  Damian Lane engaged as well.  A 30/70 split beckons

And they might be coming down the grandstand side by race 9 of the 4 day carnival which will suit where the horse has drawn

Sat 10th Flemington Stakes Day - Full Card

A major highlight being the Sprint Classic over 1200m with a star-studded field engaged.  Everest-like when considering the quality ... a tall-order with regards to boxing 5 in a trifecta too.  Which horses does one leave out?

He’s worth a few dollars Macca.  Although he is one of the lowest rated horses in the field, the race he won at Sale was a qualifier of some sort for Saturday’s race. He was equal 1st in the ballot at weights stage so he would have made the field regardless. It would have been an easy choice for me to make anyway. He’s not nominated for anything else and as far as I know it’s all systems go.

Yeah, you could argue he’s a bit out of his depth but sometimes you just have to run with what’s presented. Like you said above, last race of the four day carnival and anything can happen. Comes in at a nice weight and they have a recent Group 1 winning jockey on board.

It can win!  Much like a number of others can win in this sprint race as well Wadda

I found this Sprint race the hardest to decipher in quite some time ... and there is a possible small fortune to be made with the correct Trifecta or First4 combination saluting.

I'm surprised the race hasn't been talked up a lot more in terms of the  quality but I suspect that is because the punters & experts can't make heads or tails of the race.  There are a any number of top-line gun horses that will finish outside of the top 4.

By contrast,  the McKinnon has attracted a weakish field with only 4 realistic chances including your choice,  Extra Brut.

Keep the selections coming fellas. Will try my luck with another quaddie. I’ll probably take 5 runners in each leg and would be glorious to be alive in the last leg with El saluting.

Good luck all, should be another good day’s racing.

Nice one DZ ... I was on it for a handy collect.

Jaameh fought on really well for a gutsy win - David Hayes just mentioned that the horse has probably now qualified for next year's Melbourne Cup.  Looks a real stayer.

Great Muhammad Ali like win there from Jaameh, well spotted DZ.....talk about off the canvas.

Awesome win in a thrilling finish, thought it was race over as Sully looked to have the momentum. An even better win as both Jaameh and Sully somehow ended up running back towards the rails the last 100m.

Santa Ana Lane supreme in the Sprint ... to beat that field is something very special.

Winner of 4 Group 1's and a Group 2 now in the space of just over 12 months - lays claim to being our best 1200m - 1400m runner.  Keeps winning.

So the MVRC refuses entry for 'Trap for Fools' in the Cox Plate and then the horse comes out and wins the $2Million McKinnon Stakes in fine style.

Beat off 2 Derby winners with Blair House beaten off as well ... they ran 02:02.31 for the 2000m so it's not like it was a dawdling run.  Too good.

Extra Brut came into $4.60 2nd favourite after the @Wadda We Sing  plunge ? Ran a terrific race to finish 3rd.

A previous best on here wins the big one Macca. Had the Brut in the last leg of a few multis, not to be though. Great effort regardless.

El has been backed heavily for the next.

Yeah ... the DZ plunge!

A couple of the tipsters marked it on top ... if the horse runs up to its usual speed down the grandstand side,  it's a chance.

Equal 2nd favourite now!

Haha, it wasn’t me, my mate was hoping the money was right. Unfortunately it didn’t put in a good run at all.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
