Quarters won

I know this was a focus when we were playing badly and needed to get some 'wins' or markers along the way to demonstrate improvement but I thought the stats so far show us with plenty of improvement to do....

Out of 20 quarters we have only won 10. Interestingly 4 of those have been last quarters which will do wonders for self belief that we can beat a lot of teams.

We have also started well winning 3 first quarters. Something has changed there because we used to be terrible.

2nd quarters we have won 2 but 3rd quarters we have won only 1.

Attack (and, to be fair, accuracy!) has arrived! We are the second highest scoring team, only 3 goals shy of the ladder leaders. And our percentage attests to us not having sacrificed too much of the earlier construction of a defence system.

I'd love to see some stats about how much we've lost quarters by, as a part from the first quarter of the North game I wouldn't have thought we would have lost those quarters by much at all.

On Saturday against Gold Coast we kicked 9 goals in the 3rd quarter. That was only the 2nd 3rd quarter we have won this year.

We have won 6 last quarters which is pretty impressive out of 7 games. Our fitness and belief to run out games must be very high.

We have also won 4 first quarters and 3 second quarters.

Of the other teams it was interesting to note that Geelong has won all 7 last quarters, GWS all 7 second quarters....

FWIW

So how many third quarters have we won? 1 or 2?? Seems for years our second quarters have been bad...

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
