Sony Xperia Z5

Featured Replies

Persevered with an iPhone 5 for 3 years - and I'm an Apple fan.  But flat battery by lunchtime forces me to look at the other side.

I travel and extended battery life is everything to me.

Anyone here road tested a Xperia with the long life battery claims?

Thanks

I'm only a newbie in the Apple sphere and I've got an iPhone 6 and the battery life is sensational - far superior to anything I've used before (mainly Blackberry).

At the time of purchase, they told me that the extended battery life on the 6 was one of the big improvements from the 5, so it might be worth checking out.

My phone gets heavy usage at certain times during work and the 6 has always come through - battery almost always lasts through the day.

It's a quick re-charge too, which is beneficial if you're on the road and only have a small window of time to juice it up again.

Definitely true... I went from on iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 and the battery life is now so much better.  If you like the Apples interface and OS and battery life is the deciding factor to you wanting to change, then I would definitely upgrade to an iPhone 6 if I were you, radar.

I am an Apple fan - iPhone 3 for 3 years and i5 past three. I don't stream , don't face book, rarely watch you tube and never play games.

I hammer Viber, Wattsapp, Wechat though.

I can reach zero from full charge in 3 1/2 hours. Genius Bar tell me that's "within specification".

They've updated iOS, factory reset it, replaced the battery and replaced the phone.

No good.

I recently read an article online - 34 ways to improve iPhone Battery life. I implemented all 34, turning off things I did not even know existed like saying "Hey SIRI".

34 modifications, new LOW POWER MODE SETTING - and no difference. Maybe four hours.

My nephew and mate both report high battery usage on iPhone 6.

The Guardian review says "Great phone but rubbish battery." Thanks for your comments but I really worry the 6 will let me down.

From reviews the 6 Plus seems better than the 6. Do you guys have the 6, 6S or Plus?

I have a MacBook, not keen on learning an android but the quoted 2 day battery life on the is tempting.

Thanks

Switched from iPhone to a Huawei.

5.5 inch screen, 32 hours over a day and a half (ok 8 hours sleep) and $299 from Harvey Norman.

Looks like a 6s Plus.  Everyone thinks I've got an apple.

Thousand bucks cheaper, got the big screen, excellent battery life and i'm learning Android.

Back in Australia, Nice people at Genius Bar replaced my 3 year old iPhone 5 After I bought the Huawei.

Makes the iPhone a nice spare traveler.

Incidentally - punished the new iPhone 5 today.  100 % to zero.  Three and a half hours.

Not expecting a free replacement from Huawei in three years if I've got issues.

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
