Beat me to it :)

respectfully, a grain of salt with anything given freely at press conferences, or feeding the chooks time.

Its not usual for all players to be OFF, all at the same time. & OFF so badly. Against a weak side, an 'off' top team, can normally gather it up & forge ahead. I didn't watch the game, but heard some commentary. it sounds like they had no legs, to me?

I watched it and thought it was more in the mental side of the game, they were thinking of the break. They just weren't ready for what St Kilda dished up, there was no spark at all from Freo. They didn't want to be there. A good example was when Moribito kicked his first goal since coming back early in the game and no one went to him.

I think St Kilda felt they were treated with contempt last year when Lyon sent over a reserves side and again this game with Sandy being rested. Whatever the reason they had a good win.

This stat means little but the Dockers have never won when trailing by more than 32 points at half time, so history is not on their side... but they are playing St. Kilda.

As a little side note Col Sylvia only has 4 possessions and has been putrid for the Dockers yet again.

got feeling Sylvia will regret going to Shockers for rest of his life, big mistake, just doesn't seem to be up to it.

yep, all that is possible, I saw some of the highlights on the footy show this morn... the saints intensity was a surprise. so what's been said, & by youself, is very likely.

The Saints played well above they're 2014 form, & seemed to maintain it.

It also shows imo, that Freo are still damaged from years of poor afl form& management. scarred. & vulnerable under pressure.... Lyon better not make the same mistakes he made at the Aints. He could have recruited well, & changed the Saints culture, but just went for wins, without really going to work in-depth, on the club itself.

He needs to take a longer term view at Freo, or he could go down as one of the best coaches to never win a flag. IMO he needs to change the culture from a lacking self belief, to a powerful foundation of self-belief, irrespective of just wins. see tommy hafey. great teams but.

this imo comes down to individuals with real faith in themselves as good people & ability to fight & win. not just talent alone, & not just competitors alone. He needs to expose those fragile, to 'one on ones', & to weed out the ones who don't grow into regular 'one on one' winners. pack hunting can disguise many individual weak spots.

I'm not sure I've ever read such crap.
