DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - ROUND 3

Featured Replies

For the first time in ages, we have a name other than Nathan Jones as our leader. Dom Tyson is a real revelation in our gloomy season thus far.

42. Dom Tyson

31. Nathan Jones

25. Lynden Dunn

17. Jack Watts

14. Jeremy Howe

12. Daniel Cross Tom McDonald

8. Bernie Vince

6. Alexis Georgiou Jimmy Toumpas

3. Matt Jones Dean Terlich Jack Trengove

2. Shannon Byrnes James Frawley

1. Cam Pedersen

A poster asked last week how the votes were calculated. We take three sets of votes at random and tally them up each week.

You need to fix the system Demonland. Nathan Jones was not within a bulls roar of being second best,on the ground and certainly wasn't as good as Pedersen. People need to feel confident that the decision isn't purely on reputation but on what occurred on a given day. Otherwise you may as well just give it to Nat Jones now.

Mote than half the voters had Pedersen in the top 3 on the ground.

Three sets of votes is far too small a sample imo.

yeah, looks like something gary morgan would pull

You are wasting your breath. Whoever is hiding behind this has never even responded to the multiple complaints like yours that have occurred over several years. The system is obviously erroneous, how can it possibly not be, but the administrator is more concerned with not spending any time on it. I just observe people's votes and disregard the leaderboard as it is worthless.

It is certainly frustrating that comments on this are never responded to or even acknowledged.

I appreciate the time put into this site, but tallying even ten sets of votes would take 2 minutes. Just seems common sense.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
