Scully is a damaging player who will only get better.

Good with his hands but will not be damaging until he learns to kick better.

Damaging from the inside? Damaging to GWS salary cap? Or ability to retain other players?

His running ability is a great strength, but you'd much rather a kid like Whitfield or Kelly who has that along with sublime skills.

its the demonland way.

harp on this topic after dunstan does anything noteworthy and harp again when salem is in the magoos.

and then you harp some more until there is more than 100 pages and 15 threads on the topic.

mix in a bit of jack watts, stir it with pederson/dunn and you have demonland.

and hopefully you get a sacked coach in there somewhere and youve got everything needed to hit the keyboard .

You are a goose Jazza

(you forgot to add " mix in some personal abuse" )

So we should go for hard nuts in the first round like we did with Sylvia and McLean at picks 3 and 5? How well did that work out?

It was a raging success compared to some of our other drafts.

(goose comment - tongue firmly placed in cheek)

People may have laughed but look who just got rising star nomination in thyre first game.

Watts is a good example, took him until his 6th season for it to click. 5 years of development and he is free to walk at end of his current contract.

Trengove is in his 5th year.

So if Salem debuts in round 10 and picks up a nomination, what will you be saying then?

jkh was a waste of selection.

dunn never liked him

bring back neeldy.

not bad jazza, but you forgot Cameron Schwab - everything tastes better (or should i say bitter) with a pinch of Schwab..

by the way, i heard dunstan and ollie wines are in love and they're gonna have lots of babies together and those babies of course will end up playing at st kilda and port when they could have been demons

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
