The tragedy of it all...

You are happy with our situation?

The heat was always going to be on Neeld during his 2nd year.

So far he has not cut it. Simple

How can I be happy with the situation???

Neeld needs to see the year out.

And I reckon he will, despite all the sky is falling bs flying around.

The club just can't afford to sit on its hands, hoping we'll manage our way through this. If this situation is accepted and allowed to set in, we're gone. You can't imagine any of the power clubs accepting a period like this. They'd be calling for heads and taking action as they simply demand better results. We just seem content with rebuilding as our lot in life. Time is almost up.

Why does the present coach NEED to see the year out.

Results are what he needs, we have just finished our soft start with a 55% & one win.

Shaky ground

Okay....

Has the club got the coin to pay Neeld out?

Who will take over and build a new culture in 12 or so rounds?

What will be the new brief?

A rebuild of the current rebuild, or a just a tweak?

THINK it through!!

The alternative.

14 Thumpings.

Think it through. Nobody will watch.

Change must happen

The wrong one was made.

The job is too big?

That's why he's getting support.

Changing the coach is not the answer.

I'm very tired......

So sleep on

The message the administration is sending right now, is that these performances are accepted. By saying nothing and seemingly doing nothing, what hope do we have?

Throughout all my years following the MFC, I've looked forward to the week ahead and our next challenge. Despite the opposition and our relative positions on the ladder, I always headed to a game with a sense of optimism. I'd be optimistic that we'd put in a good showing and excite our supporters. I'd be optimistic that I'd see signs of improvement and the development of our next young star. I'd be optimistic that we'd play with pride and passion. And I'd be be optimistic that we could win the game.

Yet things have changed in the Neeld era. We've gone so far backwards that the optimism and hope - the things that keep the fire burning for us all - has gone. We've been conditioned to accept 'competitiveness' and not victory as the measure of success. Rather than look forward to the week ahead, I now enter each weekend full of dread - knowing that the result is a given, it's just a matter of how big the losing margin will be.

As a long time supporter, I feel robbed that the entity I feel so passionate about has been so badly managed, that it can't even deliver hope. And if I feel that way as a supporter, you can imagine how some of the young players coming through must feel. Things have to change, and fast.

Yep. It's a sad state of affairs when I look at the fixture and am relieved to see we're interstate so I don't feel abliged to have to go to the game to support the club.

I like to watch good competitive sport and what we're doing aint that.

Look at the dogs today...even if our players bring the right attitude to a game they aren't being coached to play in a way that can generate enough scores to beat anyone other than expansion teams, particularly when coupled with the idea that whatever our players are being taught around the defensive aspects of the game is also a disaster.

And we clearly weren't so hot against the expansion clubs either. Flogged by GC on our home ground and a struggle to get over GWS.

Excellent post Swoop, i feel the exact same way.

There is 2 very good reasons why we don't win many games of footy

we don't work hard enough when we don't have the ball and we don't kick it well enough when we do

Everyone can see that with there own eyes and Neeld Spin often contradicts those facts

It is what it is IMO is the white flag speak of a coach who has no idea on how to win the respect of his players back (if he ever had it in the first place) and that IS WHAT IT IS

Do you think we are capable of winning 6 games Jumbo ? I hope so mate but very much doubt it.

6.

Yeah, but we might rattle a few cages.

I'd be pleased if we did, but with what we've shown far this year, you'd reckon that's unlikely...

It might start tomorrow.

In fact, they really stood up to Richmond's physicality last week.

And, that's one thing I loved about your namesake, SN.....he made this team bloody tough.

Edit: spelling.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
