The monkey is off the back. Floodgates might open at last.

Jason Day will win one.

Great putting late for Scott on the 18th and the third playoff hole.

Great Scott! We've finally done it. What a fantastic win and after his last day in last year's British Open, what a way to bounce back.

To win the Masters and the green jacket. Well done Adam Scott - you've done your Country proud.

Cabrera was great again ... he is such a great fighter and competitor. Jason Day fought hard as well and his day will come.

But it's our day .... at last!

Looks like the Shark has got some company after that Jordan Spieth meltdown ... hard to believe his 3rd shot into the water on 12 (Jordan's tee shot into the water on the same hole was bad enough but to hit it fat like that was astonishing)

Anyway, Danny Willett played very well and is a worthy champion but this year's tournament is going to be remembered for other reasons ... all the same, Willett is ranked 12 in the World and could quite conceivably go on and become a multiple major winner.

Once again the back 9 on the final day at Augusta was filled with high drama.  Spieth will no doubt be back in contention soon enough but it will be interesting to see how he fares the next time he confronts 'Amen Corner'.

Adam Scott would have to be a realistic chance as he does finish well and is only 3 behind.  However, Justin Rose might just be too good in the end.  31 on the back 9 today from Rose might be pointer.

Spieth,  Garcia,  Moore,  Fowler,  Hoffman & Schwartzel are all within striking distance as well.  As always, high drama will almost certainly ensue.  Especially on the back 9.

Sorry for being a bit off topic but did anyone see that chick get a 4 stroke penalty for putting her ball down about a centremetre away from where she marked it?

2 strokes for moving it incorrectly

2 more strokes for writing the wrong score down because she didn't know she had been penalised the original 2 strokes in the first place.

Unbelievavble. She still made it to a play off hole but lost that.

As per The Open

The following might happen on a Sunday Social game

Joaquin Niemann ... Bunker to bunker to (same) bunker to bunker eventually leading to an 8 on a par 3

Went from -1 overall to -6 ... hopefully he gets back on track and makes the cut

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
